...is rewriting this file and why. man 5 resolv.conf and man resolver are unhelpful in this case. rpm reports /etc/resolv.conf is not owned by any package. ...lots of hits suggesting that 'yum info <packagename>' will show what repo it came from. Testing this on a couple of the packages above, I get 'Repo : installed'. Does that mean that the rpm came from the install CD? Am I missing something, is there an easier way>? mahalo, Dave

Hi , guys: Today , I work on my laptop which uses the CentOS x86_64 operating system , Suddenly the X-windows restarts when left at the login screen for more than a few seconds. ...uotas I've assigned on a particular partition and see if the total is bigger than the disk. It's possible to do this (awkwardly) using repquota or quota. Is there no more accurate/elegant way? I feel very silly asking this, because I saw the answer to this question one time and can't remember what it was. OpenSSH uses /dev/urandom or /dev/random which Solaris does not have (verified with a call to the Sun software folks). How do I make OpenSSH happy with a Solaris substitute for /etc/urandom?
