GNOME + Firefox - Mouse froze - what key combination to revive?
Earlier, I was using GNOME and Firefox and the Mouse died. I had to kill the power, to get the box going again, because it doesn't have a reset switch; which is *not* an elegant way to get going. What key combination would get me going or to a shell? CentOS 5, fully updated, 32 bit. TIA!

...ing with "consoleblank=0" on the kernel command line will ensure that whatever is printed to the console (oops, panic, etc) will be there for you to see when you connect. I've had intermittent success in that type of situation with the SysRq key(s), see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_SysRq_key . They do require that you have it configured/enabled ahead of time. If you access the console over a BMC/IPMI KVM session it can be very difficult, if not impossible, to enter the keystroke as well. systemctl reboot -- server not accessible after reboot
Hi, Such a simple problem, but I can't figure out the cause. Supermicro server with a Xeon E3-1200 cpu. 1U entry level item. Using CentOS 7 from ~$root --- systemctl reboot Server disconnects my ssh connection and never comes back up. Go to the server and the power is on but the server is not accessible by ssh. When I connect a monitor and keyboard --- non-responsive. It's like

system unresponsive
Ok, we used to get this occasionally on cluster nodes, and we just got it on a fileserver (very bad). The system is discovered to be unresponsive: it doesn't ping, and plugging a console in, you can see that it's not dead, but there nothing at all on the screen, nor does it respond to even <ctrl-alt-del>. The only answer is to power cycle it; it comes up fine. Nothing in

flush-btrfs-1 hangs when building openwrt
Hi, Since update to 2.6.37 I can''t build openwrt on my btrfs buildroot anymore. I''m not sure if this is related to the other flush-btrfs-1 thread. plenty of diskspace is free: /dev/mapper/cruor-build 97G 68G 27G 73% /opt/build It always hangs when openwrt builds the ext4 image and runs tune2fs on it.

Eve Online in Ubuntu
I recently switched to Ubuntu from Windows XP with only Eve Online being a Windows program I want to be able to run on my computer. I have read this thread: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1139274 and this thread: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1226117 to make Eve work in Ubuntu using Wine. I must say that with a dual monitor system Eve
