File locking problem involving Samba, Clearcase, and Cygwin
...ew used is in a different Cygwin window. The views are located on a
RHEL 5.2 Clearcase server named Flint running Samba 3.0.28. So, in
each Cygwin window, they will "cd
//flint/views/<view_name>/vobs/c2test/C2Testsuite" and in there they
run some scripts that write to logs called magellan.log and
magellan.sum. They are essentially using the views as a file server
for their test scripts.
They often run these scripts from different views at the same time,
and each script that runs runs multiple sequential tests. Inside the

Magellan Roadmate tools 3050T & Suse 10.2
I am trying to access my GPS using wine 0.9.24 0n Suse 10.2 and Cxoffice 6.0
Beta 3a . Cxoffice 5.03 does not work at all with my Suse 10.2 installation.
The Magellan road mate tools work well enough in both cxoffce beta and wine,
however wine seems to handle it better when importing POI ( Points of
Interest) files. Overall I think the wine included with Suse 10.2 is doing a
better job - ironic because I always used cxoffice because I thought it would
be mor...

I've got a share that I'm trying to get so I can set permissions
through the normal windows way (right click on
folder/file->properties->security).
The share definition is:
[test]
comment = Test share on magellan
path = /var/test
browseable = yes
writable = yes
hide unreadable = yes
admin users = @"Domain Admins"
The server is a member server in an AD domain. The winbind configuration is:

Samba 3.0.9 ==> 3.0.14a migration LDIF problem
...the existing LDAP directory. The LDIF actually imports all of the structure (OU and Group definitions) and all of my users, but it fails when it comes to my first machine account with this error:

problem with multiple figure postscript file

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to upgrade (migrate) from one linux distro (hostname blah) to
another (hostname foobar) using the same server layout, domain and
netbios name and smbpasswd password file. This is a PDC for a windows
domain DOMAIN. The IP has remained the same as the hardware is being
upgraded though I'm changing the hostname and linux distro.
I have copied over the user accounts
