Finale and Maestro fonts
I have been successful in installing and running Finale 2000 with Wine. The only - major - problem is that the music symbols are replaced by squares (like the default symbol caracter), making the music unreadable! I thought that importing the Maestro fonts with DrakeFont (Mandrake 8.0) and making them available to the system would help, but it doesn't. I have tried to add : Alias0

Gracias! force create mode issue
Dear List, I'd like to report my observations on a Samba new file permissions problem for which I found dozens of support requests on the net without any useful replies. Hopefully, my observations help identify the root cause of this issue which also seems to occur with new Samba versions 3.0.x. In our domain we operate a file server under Samba 2.2.8a as PDC. Overall we are delighted with

Samba on an AIX - HACMP Cluster
Hi! Has anybody experience in running Samba on an IBM AIX High Availability Cluster with 2 nodes? At the moment we are using NFS + Maestro NFS-Client for NT and want to change to a server software using SMB (meaning either IBM FastConnect or Samba). The server is supposed to be a file server for about 1000 Users. We don't need advanced futures like load balancing or take over of active

Assistance
We are getting ready to implement Windows 2000 to approximately 800 users who need to access HP and Sun UNIX servers. We looked at Microsoft's Services for Unix and didn't like it. Hummingbird's NFS Maestro was too expensive. One of our departments (40 users) has been using SAMBA for about a year now. However, I am required to find out where we can obtain support and to see if I

Using voice modem as poor man's FXO in Asterisk 1.8
Hi all, I've tried researching this, and so far, have struggled to find any contemporary information on the issue, so I do apologise if asking this irritates people who have answered this before. I have managed to set up Asterisk 1.8 on the web server here. I have two softphones (Ekiga) able to communicate with it. So far so good. I'm now curious to see if I can link it with the PSTN

Need help making lsof work with ZFS
...in a ZFS filesystem. He indicates that the required ZFS kernel structure definitions (header files) are not shipped with the OS. He further indicated that he rummaged through the OpenSolaris source tree and the files doesn''t match either of the Solaris 10 Update 2 or 3. Can one of the ZFS maestros point me in the direction of where these files can be found. I find it hard to believe that the header files are not shipped with the OS. Thanks, any help will be appreciated since ya''ll agree that ''lsof'' is an invaluable tool. Sooner it is available better it is for ZFS...

The 2 solutions we have evaluated are Hummingbird NFS Maestro and Intergraph Disk Access (also available through MS Services For UNIX). We are not recommending the use of Samba based solutions : you report a data corruption issue at <COMPANY X>; I have
