I'm sorry, the previous ezstream RPM package maintainer did not registered the
package for monitoring new releases, so Fedora still delivers older version.

mpg123 alternative?
Been using mpg123 for moh for the last two years or so. However, when
I have * config errors, often times get a endless stream of console
messages and need to kill the two mpg123 processes.
Is there an alternative to mpg123 that eliminates that issue?
I see references in musiconhold.conf relative to madplay, native file
format, asterisk-addons, etc. Not sure why the asterisk-addon approach

ezstream/madplay: problem with decoding
So here's the story: I thought I would explore further features of the ezstream,
including its ability to reencode various input types (e.g. ogg, mp3, flac) on
the fly into one type of stream (ezstream_reencode_mp3.xml config). It works
wonderfully except for one problem: the decoding of mp3s results in a steady
stream of noise (i.e. the source is not distinguishable among the noise). Using

EZStream 0.5.6 Says No Such Share Object
On Fedora 20 (Heizenbug), when the command:
/usr/local/bin/ezstream -q -c "{some-file}.xml"
is executed, the error message:
/usr/loca/bin/ezstream: error while loading shared library:

is displayed. "find" shows it's in /usr/lib64, which is a link to

EZStream is what it sounds like. It's a very basic streamer. You can use
it to stream files as they are, at the bitrate they are, etc. For
anything more complicated, you will need decoders and encoders. This
includes being able to stream multiple

Questions on musiconhold.conf custom mode
Hello,
I need to play some musiconhold content starting at a random duration
from the start.
Thanks to mode=custom option and either madplay or mpg123 programs, I
could successfully get what I was after on a Debian Wheezy system.
Now I realized sox version on my target system (Debian Squeeze) cannot
convert to MP3 format.
So I'm looking after workarounds.

MOH Server
...naged to set up a moh server for Asterisk? Reason would be to offload processing off the asterisk box, onto another system.
The wiki is a bit light on details. If anyone managed to get it up and working, what software did you use on the server side, and what client app did you use? Mpg123? Mpg321? Madplayer? Something else?
Also, putting legal ramifications aside, it'd be nifty to do something similar and stream the audio from an online radio station... just for kicks.
Thanks.

Trying to get EZStream to work
I'm having problems getting EZStream to work. I can't find a working
version of Madplay anywhere..
Also, do I need to have lame in the actual directory? Would that be the
exe, or the dll version of it.
Thanks

Ezstream really isn't designed for this. It's primarily meant for
streaming files as they are, which is a very light-weight operation, with

ezstream question
Hi all:
I am managing a radio station that has 7 streams.
I am using icecast, ices and ezstream on the streams and overall it is
working pretty well.
One of the streams is an old time radio stream and I use ezstream to run the
prerecorded shows.
The streams are 128K mp3 streams.
Also this station is running on a VPS using Ubuntu 14.04.
My question:
Is there a package or some sort of

Using Asterisk to play Icecast streams
Steve,
These are live streams of events so I can't simply rip the audio. As I
mentioned at the end of my email putting in a sleep did help a bit however
there are only so many streams Asterisk will grab nicely at once with out
spiking the CPU. I also tinkered a bit with real time here is what I found:
1) If we have cachertclasses=no then Asterisk will only pull the stream if

Trouble with EZStream
The following behavior began about a day ago. NO changes have been
made to the Fedora 20 (Heizenbug) system on which these things run.
For no obvious or accountable reason, EZStream has stopped streaming.
Here's a copy of the output from the ezstream command itself:
# ezstream -c "/home/admin/ezstream/dn.xml"
ezstream: Connected to http://localhost:8000/broadband

buffer-issue when piping live-streams into musiconhold
Hi Folks,
I'm currently trying to configure musiconhold (on a asterisk-1.4.17) for
replaying a live mp3-stream (Icecast2). after reading the related material
on voip-info and several other pages, I've successfully tried out mpg132,
madplay and mplayer to pipe a stream into moh.
however, there is one major problem involving some kind of buffer-issue. let
me try to explain this problem

Using Asterisk to play Icecast streams

A long time ago I built an Asterisk system that plays IceCast streams via

ezstream question
Thanks Geoff, I will give it a try.
I am reencoding all files to a 128K mp3, 44100 sample rate stereo stream
for consistency.
So yes I have the decode and encode lines in the xml file as you outlined.
I will check out sox and see how it does.
I am also exploring mp3gain to run across the entire library and see if
getting all files to the same level will help.

I don't understand that reaction to packaging. mplayer uses a variety
of libraries to support a large variety of media types. It doesn't
include servers or SUID binaries, so it doesn't carry a significant
security risk, and

-HEAD/--STABLE using 100% cpu
Hello,
I've been doing some testing lately on Asterisk. I've had some problems
with it using 100% cpu at times. One time, it held the 100% cpu usage
for 12 seconds.
I've tried the latest -head and -stable as of yesterday. I saw Kevin
just made a commit, so I'll try updating again.
I was wondering if there is a specific version that someone has done
heavy testing on (handling
