rsync 2.5.5, "unexpected tag failures", Solaris 2.6 vs. 2.8, "--b locking-io" workaround
...Solaris bug and the "--blocking-io" option, so tried it, but
that seemed many versions ago).
I am not doing the builds myself - sysadmins are doing it. Is there
anything special they
need to do in the 2.6 build to avoid my having to use the "--blocking-io"
flag?
Thanks,

SIP re-invites ignored by other end
...a few days and am somewhat stumped.
I would blame the provider on the other end (and still might) except that
I see this with multiple providers (in fact none work), so I thought I'd
try passing it by here first. Because the file is a little long, I have
posted a sample SIP trace at
http://madole.net/asterisk/sip-reinvite-prob.txt of a session that
involves an incoming call through TelIAX calling back out again through
TelIAX.
If a SIP expert could take a look and pass along any suggestions, I'd
appreciate it.
Thanks,
David

include/exclude directory question
I want to send a subset of directories sepcified in "include" arguments
to a client, but I am creating all the
peer and parent directories as well, although they are empty - here is
basically what I'm doing.
assuming I have /staging/upgrade/dir1, /staging/upgrade/dir2 and
/staging/upgrade/dir3 on the source tree.
--include "*/" -include upgrade/dir1/** -include

release 2.4.7pre4 - Thanks!
...-vv should cut the traffic on this list by
about 25% (I wish I'd had them
a couple of weeks ago).
I've been testing it all morning with a somewhat Byzantine set of perl
generated options and
so far no problems. (And it may be my imagination, but it even seems
faster).
Thanks again,

Not all files synched - hard link problems???
I am sorry if this has been covered before: I have done a couple of
futile searches in the bug reporting system and is there any way to
search the archive?
I am having a strange symptom: I am synching directories (that have
very long file names, by the time the full path is specified) and a lot
of hard links. It seems that the directory is being copied piecemeal -
that
is, if I run rsync enough

MySQL Auth and default_mail_env
Hi
Not sure how much support you guys can offer but when I use
default_mail_env =
mbox:/var/spool/mail/%d/imap/%n/:INBOX=/var/spool/mail/%d/%n
I get the login error ..
Fatal: Failed to create storage with data:
mbox:/var/spool/mail/DOMAIN/imap/USER/:INBOX=/var/spool/mail/DOMAIN/USER
It is grabbing the right values for %d and %n from the mysql query

Patch for auto-creating home directories
I've created a patch that adds a feature that is helpful to my setup. If
'parent_dir_umask' is set in the configuration file, any missing
directories in the home directory path are created.
The home directory itself is created according to the 'umask' setting,
'parent_dir_umask' is only used for intermediate directories that might
need creating.
This is useful to me,

Assertion failure in maildir-mail.c for gzipped maildir files in 1.1.15
I attempted an upgrade from 1.1.7 to 1.1.15 and encountered an apparent
regression in handling gzipped maildir files.
I have tried to narrow down the conditions under which it happens and
reproduce it with as simple a case as possible. The actual mail
application that exposed this problem is Squirrelmail.
Starting off with the index files removed from the "Folder" maildir
directory:

Tips to build from CVS?
I am struggling to compile Dovecot from CVS. I don't seem to be able to
get a good configure script, always ending up with an error during
configure.
# sh autogen.sh
configure.in:13: warning: AC_ARG_PROGRAM invoked multiple times
# ./configure
