patch for colored drop-shadow
...9;s already the option shadow_opacity for this. BTW, it
takes a moment for the changed setting to apply. I don't know if that's
normal. David what's your call on this?
Finally, here's a screenshot to show you how careful you should be with
chosing your new shadow_color :)

reason for bad performance on i915 (AIGLX)
...otatation, switcher or drag-rotate while moving
windows to different workspaces. Furthermore GL-apps leave artifacts on
the screen when dragged around (even if ran under metacity) and I don't
seem to be able to get transparent GL-apps working (e.g. try
gl-cairo-cube from people.freedesktop.org/~macslow).
I know that the i915 is an integrated graphics-chip solution using only
system-memory, but I remember people showcasing screencaptures of such
systems with much better performance under compiz.
Is all this only a Xorg/driver problem or will I never get any decent
performance (and feature-pari...

AIGLX Support with nVidia 9625 Drivers
Hello,
I'm on a Gentoo machine with the latest beta nVidia 9625 Drivers,
trying to get Compiz to work with AIGLX... simply running 'compiz', or
even with the addition of any options other than version, causes
compiz to detect that it is indeed not XGL, and then segmentation
faults... please note that I have only currently tried this with

patch: libsvg/libsvg-cairo to librsvg
...in order to
help compiz get rid of the old cruft that is libsvg/libsvg-cairo.
BTW, to select svg-support via configure now you have to pass:
--enable-librsvg
now, instead of the old:
--enable-libsvg-cairo
I hope this change makes sense and is ok with everybody.
Best regards...

g-w-d.c -> my head spins
...ch is rendered through glitz in compiz'
case? Unfortunately the list goes on. I should have looked this deep
into g-w-d.c _before_ assuming I could add tweakable shadows to it. I'm
currently looking like a jackass and feel just dumb for not really
comprehending the code :/
Best regards...

BCOP: The Beryl/Compiz XML options parser
Adding new options to a plugin is a pain. There is a lot of code that has
allways to be changed for that. This is the reason why I've created the
Beryl/Compiz XML options parser (bcop). Bcop allows you easily to describe
options in XML and will autogenerate the needed Beryl/Compiz C code for you.
The only think that needs to be changed in a existing plugins is to include
the xxx_options.h

Next thing is now to stuff this in gnome-window-decorator.c, have those
cairo-based drawing functions paint into GL-textures and use these
instead of the hard-coded inline-pixmaps. Once I have this working I
post a patch here for everybody to check out (and flame me ;).

drop-shadows
I've now added configurable drop-shadows to g-w-d. You'll need current
CVS version of Xgl, which includes important convolution filter fixes
for properly rendered shadows.

patch to set start- and end-color-stop for the skydome fallback gradient

I supply two patches... one for compiz and one for beryl.
David, don't feel urged to include this patch. I mainly wrote it as a
small favour for some beryl-folks asking for it. It was hardly any work
and I myself regard it as superfluous.

Skydome not working
Hi all,
I've searched all over to the answer for this but no luck. In short, skydome doesn't seem to be working, I only have a black background. Skydome is pointing at the following:

Once that's finished I intend them to be stuffed into textures and then
