But I have been wondering why don't we see a widespread implementation of rsync in most popular file transfer tools. I know that the algorithm was conceived by Andrew Tridgell and Paul Mackerras from Department of Computer Science, Australian National University. ...39;m using rsync to synchronize two directories on a Solaris 8 e450 server. rsync copies about 22GB per night. It seems to take 50 minutes for the copy to complete. which seems a little bit slow. Hi, I am maintaining a port of rsync (https://github.com/perlundq/yajsync) which is GPL:ed of course. The main purpose of the project is to provide a Java API library for the rsync protocol. It would therefore be really nice to be able to use LGPL as the license.
