Interesting problem with 3.0p1 and IPv6
...int is c6:09:28:90:71:04:f8:0c:ca:6e:30:41:37:f2:76:ea. Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? (I know that this machine should retire - it will, but that's not the point). Everything is OK. Now, if I do "ssh -v cname" where "cname" is a CNAME to the same machnie, the following happens: $ ssh -v hilberto OpenSSH_3.0p1, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x0090602f debug1: Reading configuration data /usr/local/etc/ssh_config debug1: Seeding random number generator debug1: restore_uid debug1: ssh_connect: getuid 0 geteuid 0 anon 0 debug1: Connecting to hilberto...

share between different workgroups
...ello, My company network config: ## Workgroup a, b, c (windows based), and d (novell) ## Now I added a workgroup e (linux samba), and want to make all the machines under different workgroups share the files or printers when necessary. So I setup a RH7.1 with NAT implemented by iptables so that the machnies under this server can use 192.168.0.x (win9x machines) to access the network. Yet the other machines (win9x) under other workgroups are using real IP at the moment. Problem: now, the machines with real IP can see the linux in the network neighbourhood and the 192.168.0.x whereas CANNOT get access...

tftp file size limit: pxelinux.0 vs. syslinux.efi
...You will likely get > much higher transfer rates in addition to avoiding these kinds of limits. > > -hpa > > I have run into the same issue. I am running 6.04_pre. I experienced the same behavior with 6.03. I have been using legacy PXE to boot a live ububtu image for installation on machnies. I recently received a new uefi machine and want to get it to boot UEFI instead of legacy. I re-organized my directory structure on the tftp server to be able to use either efi64 or legacy and get a menu from either one. The live image will boot with legacy just fine. When I try to boot it from u...

Smb By Example is good stuff :-)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Well I can't say enough about Mr. Terpstra's Samba 3.0 by Example for setting up a basic PDC. It is really quite good although I do have one minor issue adapting it to my needs. As things stand right now, it seems to spin like a top. It passes all the tests mentioned in the By Example doc. I have but one issue with it really and it is very

Conversion to ext3 failed.
...Mount the partition that has the specified label. -U uuid Mount the partition that has the specified uuid. These two options require the file /proc/partitions (present since Linux 2.1.116) to exist. -t vfstype Hi there! I have a PI 133 machnie with SuSE 7.3. There are a few file systems. / and /boot were ext2 filesystems os I wanted to convert them to ext3. I've issued the command: tune2fs -j /dev/hda1 It was successful. Then I umounted /boot Modified /etc/fstab according to the change. And tried to mount the filesystem as ext3....
