Successful integration using Winbind - not a dream
...oller did the following:
1. Start -> Programs -> Adminsitrative Tools -> Domain Security Policy
-> Windows Settings -> Local Policies -> Security Options.
2. LAN Manager Authentication Level = Send LM & NTLM responses
3. Start -> Run -> cmd
4. secedit refreshpolicy machine_policy
5. secedit refreshpolicy user_policy
After this, I rebooted the Win2K Domain Controller for good
measure, and I also rebooted the Linux server to ensure that all of my
services started in the proper order as this appears to definately have

samba support for local profiles
Hi, I tried searching the list and could not find a straight answer.
Does samba support local profiles?
How does one enable/setup local profiles?
What version of samba has best support for local profiles?
We are having trouble with a novell->samba migration and would like to use
local profiles if possible. It would take alot of work off our hands to
migrate the profiles correctly.

samba pdc & ldap without roaming profiles
Hi list
At the momtent I use samba as a pdc with tdbsam as passwd backend. I
plan to use ldap and I already tried it out. Unfortunately I didn't find
a way to disable roaming profiles. I used the smbldap tools.
First there is the question if I should use
add user script = /usr/sbin/smbldap-useradd -m "%u"
with the -a (is a Windows User) option.
