must cut the line down too much for shaping to work
Hi, my situation: One internet connection 256 kbps uplink/downlink, pretty stable speed, a Linux router with three NICs (one to ISP, one to DMZ and one with VLANs enabled to our LAN). Each of three VLANs (1, 10, 11) is a region for me; id 1 gets guaranteed 128 kbps, id 10 and 11 both get guaranteed 64 kbps (both uplink and downlink). Simple configuration. After I read relevant parts of lartc

I have this situation: My machine debina, has three interfaces: eth1 212.126.24.129 ppp0 10.2.0.1 (Point-to-Point: 212.31.242.98) nsc5 10.2.0.250 (Point-to-Point: 172.23.140.32) I want packets which come in through the nsc5 interface, to be FORWARDED to the ppp0 interface to 212.31.242.98, even when their destination address is 212.126.24.129 (even so this is the IP of eth1 on this

UPS gracefull restart
Hi, I'm just looking at the code of snmp-ups driver in the source tree. I'm trying to find out, what can I change in the code to force the snmp-ups driver to send shutdown command to the upsd to shutdown the computer when I set up on the UPS via telnet that it should restart gracefully. The communication otherwise works perfectly but the gracefull restarts and turn off. Using apcsmart

ext3 nodump attribute inheritance
Hi, in the past I was considering the ways to back up files in my Linux home box. The important part of such thinking is how to set exclusion paths wisely. I finally found out that setting ext2/ext3 nodump attribute using chattr for files, but mainly directories, suits me best. Setting the match (regexp) lists for the backup script exetrnally seems sub-optimal to me, since my dump/nodump data
