Measurements of 3000 criminals
Hallo everyone, excuse me if this is not a genuine R question but I do not know where to ask else. Referring to e.g. https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-help/2004-December/062114.html I wonder if these measurements of 3000 criminals (raw data) are available anywhere. At least I didn't find them in the R datasets package or by means of Google. What I did find was a table of frequencies of

Problems with NT passwords on samba 2.2.8 and earlier versions.
...all smbd and nmbd processes running on the unix box. However that can lead to problems if a user is running a process on their PC that is accessing a file on a unix box. The process seems to loose track of where it is in the file or something. Do I need a xenU initrd image?
Hi, I just created a Xen domU using http to install over the network. How do I now restart the domU and use the installed OS? I gather I need a initrd image to boot my guest. I''ve found bits and pieces of answers to my question referring to mkinitrd, but none seem to work. I am running Scientific Linux 5. Thanks in advance, Cam _______________________________________________

Multiple spelling suggestions
...h, (in my eye), is that it can supply a list of alternate spellings, not just the one it considers best. In some cases, this can be useful. 2 examples on my test index: porbability: xapian suggests portability, which is nice, but I was intending probability which is in the aspell list all right. macdonell: xapian suggests macdonald, all right again, but aspell also suggests mcdowell and mcdonald, which might be actually useful to someone trying to remember the name of a correspondant. When just trying to quick-fix the query, or running an alternate query like Google does, using the "best"...

Mysql Server has gone away?
First off, amazing plugin! Being a rails noob, it helped me do some stuff I would''ve thought way over my head. Which brings me to my problem. :) I''m using backgroundrb to handle some processes that take so long that I don''t want them tied to a page refresh (several xml-rpc calls and saving data in text files on the server). I got it working with backgroundrb fairly

Network has stopped working
Hi, I am running Scientific Linux (RHEL clone) and my networking was working fine. However, my network has seemed to vanish. Xen boots fine, but Xen comes up with no network. Running ''lspci'' shows that both network cards - Broadcom NetExtreme - are shown. However ''lsconfig -a'' shows only the loopback interface. Trying to restart networking complains
