Macaulay Duration for Group
... 12
# Here frequency_coupon is coded s.t. 0 means Daily compounding, 1 means monthly compouding, 2 means Quarterly, 3 means Half yearly and 4 means only once. Thus in the case the frequency_coupon = 1 means, total number of times compounding is done = 12.
My R Code for calcualting Macaulay Duration is as follows -
## INPUT
ONS = read.csv('instrument details..csv')
par_value = ONS$par_value
coupon = ONS$coupon_rate*par_value/100
freq_coupon = ONS$frequency_copoun
tenure = ONS$tenure
ytm = ONS$ytm

...ht be the best option, but I've got a very long file - well over 100 species, each a matrix of 70 x 100 datapoints. making this option rther time consuming, I expect - especially as the next dataset has 1300 species and a much larger grid...
Any hints would be gratefully recieved.

Please Please Please Help me!!
Dear R helpers
(I have already written the required R code which is giving me correct results for a given single set of data. I just wish to wish to use it for multiple data.)
I have defined a function (as given below) which helps me calculate Macaulay Duration and Modified Duration and its working fine with given set of data.
My Code -

I got really stuck trying to apply a function to a piece of code that I
created using different string functions.
To make things really easy, this is a wee example:

paste() and rep() steps

cp2tform equivalent
I'm a new R user and am looking for an R equivalent to the Matlab 'cp2tform' function (see: http://www.mathworks.com/help/toolbox/images/ref/cp2tform.html).
cp2tform accepts pairs of 2D control points and produces a least-squares optimized spatial transformation from one set of points to the other. Specifically, I'm looking to produce the coefficients of a 3rd order polynomial

Harmonizing JSON/XML serialization
The way Rails handles root nodes in JSON and XML serialization is
inconsistent. This has been discussed before:
https://rails.lighthouseapp.com/projects/8994/tickets/2584-232-activeresource-json-doesnt-send-parameters-with-root-node
This seems mostly taken care of with
ActiveModel::Base.include_root_in_json, especially if/when it ends up
in ActiveResource. However, there is also the issue of how

how to plot single frames as a movie?
Dear users,
1. Is there a way to create a movie file to play a sequence of single frames
(e.g. plots) at a specified time delay between frames?
2. If making a movie file is not possible, then how can I incorporate in a
loop some delay between the frames to be plotted so I can change the playing
speed?
Sorry if this questions was already in the forum, but I couldn?t find it.
Thanks in advance

removing loop in array recalculation
Hi,
I'm looking for a more elegant (and faster) solution to my current
problem than the code at the end. I'm sure there is one, but can't think
where to look - any pointers would be very welcome. The problem is one
of resampling within an array. This array consists of 0s, 1s and NAs.
For each level of dimension z, I would like to rewrite the array such
that it looks up the values in
