Re: VF MAC not reverted to all zero MAC/domain xml MAC on VM restart
Hi Laine, Thanks for taking the time to respond to my question. I think I have not described my problem clearly. Let me explain my issue below with the information that you had requested. My assumption according to the information you gave me is that the admin MAC and VF MAC are the same in my case. I see a PF (GE0-0) interface but I don’t see a vfnetdev interface as you mentioned in your email. * Given this assumption, when the host is booted, the admin MAC and VF MAC are both 00:00:00:00:00:00. How does the libvirt deal with the vnet mac address
How does the libvirt deal with the vnet mac address? Greetings, if I establish a network for the VM (hypervisor is KVM) using bridge in the virt-manager , a vnet0 device is created . There are some relationships about mac address between the vnet0 device in the hypervisor and the ethX device in the VM, for example : the mac address of vnet0...

PPTP VPN secure?
...(thank you Tom for excellent documentation), everything works fine so far. Problem is security. As I understand it, since PPTP ports trough tunnel are opened to whole Internet (have to be), access verification is now based only on username/password combination. Can level of security be raised with MAC verification? I found in shorewall documentation "MAC addresses are only visible within an ethernet segment so all MAC addresses used in verification must belong to devices physically connected to one of the LANs to which your firewall is connected", but still I get info about MAC address...

Wine for Linux PPC emulate Mac OS
The Wine http://www.winehq.com/ project has been created to emulate Windows to be able to run windows softwares directly under Linux without to have to emulate Windows. It's very great and wonderful idea ! The Darwine http://darwine.opendarwin.org/ project aims to to the same but under Mac OS X with adding also the emulation of an x86 CPU. But, I wanted to know something, or even to make a proposal. Would it be possible to make a special Wine version for Linux PPC that instead of emulating Windows would emulate Mac OS ? Yes there's already the very great Mac On Linux PPC (MOL)...

mac os 10.5.5 and symbolic link to www
We have a new server running Red Hat 5.2EL. Windows machines can samba to the linux server with no problems, including symbolic links to the www directory. Our Mac OS 10.5.5 machines have a problem with symbolic links to the www directory. On the Mac computers, the symbolic links show up as an alias that cannot be followed. These same MAC computers can...
