buffer overflow in recv_exclude_list using rsync under windows?
Hi,
First post to the list, so please feel free to set me straight if I'm not
following some protocol or other :o)
We need to use rsync to send files to a client, being a Windows user, we
decided to try both the cwrsync implementation and also a straight
cygwin/rsync install. I'm experiencing the following errors:
using cygwin implementation:

AAC in .m4a command line tagging ???
...xt year) also sucks - for html5 audio served to
iPhones where Safari doesn't support Ogg Opus and where bandwidth may be
limited, AAC is a very attractive option.
I have an AAC encoding solution for Linux but I don't have a way to tag
them.
Anyone know of Linux command-line tagger for .m4a files that produces
tags that will work in iTunes? Preferably one that allows addition of
album art as well as text tags. Something like eyeD3 (python script)
would be great.
Has to be command line so it can be automated on a server that does the
transcoding.
Thanks for suggestions.

ices0, lame, and m4a
...Since the streamer needs to have
mp3 support for my currently ripped music, I'm
planning on using ices0 with lame support to allow for
the AAC files.
Here's the problem: I installed faad, lame, and ices0
without any problems... or so I thought. I ripped a
CD with iTunes and uploaded the m4a file to my server.
I set up the playlist, run ices, and I get a
segmentation fault. Is this an issue with how iTunes
rips the CD?
Relevant installed ports (let me know if I missed
one):

flac-1.1.2
lame-3.96.1

Character encoding mystery
Hi everyone,
I have a very annoying character encoding problem. Have a look to this:
# ls -l M*mo-1.*
-rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 8417218 6 sept. 2013 Mémo-1.aif
-rwxr--r-- 1 hope hope 8417218 6 sept. 2013 Mémo-1.aif
-rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 363175 6 sept. 2013 Mémo-1.m4a
-rwxr--r-- 1 hope hope 363175 6 sept. 2013 Mémo-1.m4a
Yes, it looks like two files have exactly the same name, but actually
they're different: one as "é" encoded as 0xCC81, and the other one (the
"good one") as 0xC3A9. Of course similar problems occur for all accented

_Streaming_ AAC to HTML5 player
We've been using Icecast KH for years now with great success. Thanks
again Karl H!
It's past time to ditch Flash!
I'm probably a bit out of date on this issue. The last time I checked,
no browser was able to directly play an AAC / MP4 / M4A stream from
Icecast. They can play AAC _files_ but not _streams_.
I see that there are now alternatives beyond Wowza and Red5.
But my question is: is anything happening with Icecast to address this?
Thanks!

We will also be podcasting, so that means our encoding needs to be
compatible with the Apple iPod. Here's what it supports: MP3 (8 to 320
Kbps), MP3 VBR, AAC (8 to 320 Kbps), Protected AAC (from iTunes Music

also support AIFF)
As best as I can tell, we'll have to encode ogg vorbis for broadcast and
