realtek 8211CL driver centos 5.2 x86_64
Anyone know how to get the realtek 8211CL network driver working on an ASUS M3N78 motherboard? I was able to get the SATA disks to work with using the pci=nomsi boot option. Jerry

[Bug 90423] New: [NVAA]: Shutdown (poweroff) get stuck when runtime PM is enabled
...rg I'm currently running a 3.19 kernel where I looked into the problem that one of my systems doesn't shutdown cleanly most of the time. THis behavior started from some older kernels, I _guess_ it's 5addcf0a5f0fadc ("nouveau: add runtime PM support (v0.9"). My board is a Asus M3N78-EM with a > 02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation C77 [GeForce 8300] (rev a2) During shutdown dmesg shows the following: [ 38.476675] systemd-shutdown[1]: Powering off. [ 38.536997] sd 1:0:0:0: [sdb] Synchronizing SCSI cache [ 38.542522] sd 1:0:0:0: [sdb] Stopping disk [...

modern motherboard for centos-5
I'm considering upgrading, and am trying to choose a modern motherboard that nevertheless fully works with Centos5/RHEL5. Though I'm partial to AMD processors, and would like to use one in my new configuration, that's not a requirement, if the most appropriate board happens to be intel-compatible. However, given the way ASUS is dumping LInux and crawling more firmly into bed with

Still more questions WRT selecting a mobo for small ZFS RAID
Like many others, I am looking to put together a SOHO NAS based on ZFS/CIFS. The plan is 6 x 1TB drives in RAIDZ2 configuration, driven via mobo with 6 SATA ports. I''ve read most, if not all, of the threads here, as well as sbredon''s excellent article on building a home NAS, yet I still have a number of unanswered questions. I was leaning heavily towards the M2N-E for a while,

snv_110 -> snv_121 produces checksum errors on Raid-Z pool
I have a 5-500GB disk Raid-Z pool that has been producing checksum errors right after upgrading SXCE to build 121. They seem to be randomly occurring on all 5 disks, so it doesn''t look like a disk failure situation. Repeatingly running a scrub on the pools randomly repairs between 20 and a few hundred checksum errors. Since I hadn''t physically touched the machine, it seems a

EverQuest - worked once, but no more
...AMD Turion 64 X2 (1.8 GHz) Memory: 2 GB OS: Ubuntu 8.04 Wine: 1.1.4 Unfortunately, the computer was formatted and given to someone else, so I can no longer compare the configurations or run any tests on that one. I now have a replacement computer (desktop), with the following: Motherboard: Asus M3N78-EM Graphics: GeForce 8300 (onboard) Processor: AMD Phenom 64 x4 (2.6GHz) Memory: 4 Gb OCZ OS: Ubuntu 8.10 Wine: 1.1.10 Installation of Everquest has completed perfectly, with no errors during install. I can, in fact, run EverQuest.exe without trouble. Problem is, I'm trying to get on a free...

ZFS Hardware Check, OS X Compatibility, NEWBIE!!
This is my first post here, and i hope it is ok that i posted in this thread. I have been doing a bit of reading on the solaris platforms, and seem to be inclined to try out the open solaris os or solaris 10. My only worry is that my lack of knowledge with the command line may make this difficult regarding trouble shooting. It seems fairly straighforward creating zpools etc, but maybe nexenta is
