panel ordering in nlme and augPred plots
Hi, I'm new at this, I'm very confused, and I think I'm missing something important here. In our pet example we have this: > fm <- lme(Orthodont) > plot(Orthodont) > plot(augPred(fm, level = 0:1)) which gives us a trellis plot with the females above the males, starting with "F03", "F04", "F11", "F06", etc. I thought the point of

wordcloud y tabla de palabras
Buenas noches grupo. Saludos cordiales.

simplex projection and S-Map
I am interested in using the nonlinear forecasting techniques developed by Sugihara et al. In particular the simplex projection and the S-Map (see this website for details and reprints: http://iod.ucsd.edu/simplex/ ). I've looked through CRAN but could not find any package with functions that allow such analysis. Any pointers? Thanks, Manu

lme funcion in R
Hi, R users, I'm using the "lme" function in R to estimate a 2 level mixed effects model, in which the size of the subject groups are different. It turned out that It takes forever for R to converge. I also tried the same thing in SPSS and SPSS can give the results out within 20 minutes. Anyone can give me some advice on the lme function in R, especially why R does not converge?

question about changejournal
Hi, I''ve got a newbie question--sorry if this is covered elsewhere, I parsed through the archives for awhile and didn''t see it. I''d like to listen for whenever a file is renamed (e.g. foo.txt -> foo.old) and then magically change it back. This sounds odd, but I''m working with a stubborn application and this will actually make things work nice. So, if I do:

nls plinear formula
I want to fit a nonlinear model of the form: Y=A+B*X1+C*X2+log(X3/(X3+D)) I think that the best way is to use the plinear algorithm, but I don't know how to specify the formula in the nls function. I've tried: Y~cbind(rep(1,times=length(Y)),X1,X2,log(X3/(X3+D))) But this fits the model: Y=A+B*X1+C*X2+D1*log(X3/(X3+D)) How can I specify the formula correctly? Thanks, M
