Increase Disk Space with LVM
...6 for /home and sdb2
The mentioned instruction I've got from this page:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/458476/adding-disks-with-lvm#459176
Now my question:
Is this procedure really safe or is something missing or are there some
steps
which I overlooked actually?
Kind Regards

lightdm + xorg.conf + nvidia driver
...age,
I am not able to restart lightdm anymore.
Lightdm should be running, otherwise it is not possible
to run virtualgl in an appropriate way.
I had the same/similar issues on three different servers with three
different nvidia graphic cards.
Any help is appreciated.
Best Regards,

This bit should say that you've installed the nvidia driver from elrepo.
Anything else is just a world of pain of your own making.

Best practice preparing for disk restoring system
I'd agree with you John. I'm trying to get away from Amanda's
unpredictability and go back to using scripts to drive dump (for
ext2/3/4) and xfsdump (for xfs).
Is there any easy way to tell rear to include xfsdump and dump
capability? If the commands are there then its trivial to restore data.
What I've done in the past is before the nightly backup write a small

Samba-4.10.4 strange behaviour
Hello All,
I'm new to the list and I don't have much of experience with samba.
I have a test setup on CentOS 7.8 with samba-4.10.4 and samba-vfs-glusterfs .
When my client mounts the samba share via vers=1.0 , the user sees the share properly (uid, gid, mode are just like on gluster). When the share is mounted with vers=2.0 or not specified (anything higher) the files are owned by
