Backing up OS drive?
I have one drive that I''m running OpenSolaris on and a 6-drive RAIDZ. Unfortunately I don''t have another drive to mirror the OS drive, so I was wondering what the best way to back up that drive is. Can I mirror it onto a file on the RAIDZ, or will this cause problems before the array is loaded when booting? What about zfs send and recv to the RAIDZ?

I've just signed a bunch of keys using the caff tools. A few minutes ago they

Could not connect to host box.domain.tld
...fetchmail/procmail/postfix/dovecot/kmail for some time on my mail
server, and have set this up on three or four machines in the past. I'm now
setting up a new server and having problems. I've reached the
thinking-in-circles stage, so need a prompt.
The box in question is called borg2.lydgate.lan, and resides at 192.168.0.40.
I can ping both borg2.lydgate.lan and 192.168.0.40, yet kmail tells me that
it cannot connect to it, either by name or ip. /etc/hosts has correct lines
for the box. It has to be something pretty basic, but I can't think what,
unless it is either an seli...

I presume that this is a configurable limit, but I'm not sure where to look.
Since it says MTA I'm thinking that it's probably postfix. Can someone

Installing Postfix/Dovecot
I have just installed CentOS 5.1 on my home server and I am trying to
set a mail server.
I have diligently followed the instructions on the Wiki - How To on the
CentOS website (http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/postfix). However I cannot
send internal email (I haven't yet tried externally).
Do you have any suggestions on what to check? To test it I used two
normail user: giulio and federica.

Invisible messages
I have pulled in a couple of messages using fetchmail and put them
through a procmail filter, which has resulted in the two messages being
visible in a file manager in ~/Maildir/Design/new. However, using my
Imap account on this box I can't see those messages.
Any hints, please?

This blacklist would help in securing non-Debian systems as well. Are there
any plans to include this ssh update in CentOS?

Apparent corruption of dovecot.uidlist
I have been using Dovecot for about three years, and am currently using
version 1.0.7 under CentOS. One of my users can no longer access his Inbox,
although he can read mail in other folders. After a fair bit of log-viewing
and looking for clues it suddenly began to make a sort of sense. The error
message in the logs is
Error: IMAP(david):

Authentication problem - or is it?
My old server ran v.0.99, and this is the first time I've tried to get v.1
running. When I try to test it with telnet I see

Browsing between linux boxes
My problem appears to be too simple to be addressed in the documentation,
being a linux-to-linux problem. This is a mixed home lan, but the majority
of file sharing is done between three linux boxes. All three have a public
directory, but the one on box1 is mainly used for file sharing. All of this
worked well with our old Samba 2 setup, but has now gone to pieces. Two of
the boxes are
