Upgraded to 2.9p1 with no luck..
Howdy,
After upgrading to 2.9 (OpenSSH_2.9p1, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL
0x0090600f)
I'm unable to ssh between two systems any more (the two that I've upgraded).
I've recompiled from the original source several times, each time with no
errors,
regenerated host keys, regenerated client keys (using rsa), etc., to no
avail.
Below are some relevant snippets of debugging output

neg-bin clustered analysis in R?
...termined on household level, so all
members of a household have the same value for those covariates.
In STATA, there seems to be an option for 'clustered analysis' for
neg-bin regression. Does an equivalent exist for R(MASS)'s glm.nb or a
comparable function?
Many thanks for all help!

openssh 2.2.0p1 fails with openssl 0.9.6-beta1
...age to openssh-unix-dev, as I don't know,
whether this is caused by the new OpenSSL release or a problem with
OpenSSH calling it.
!! In any case it is a kind of show-stopper!!
Unfortunately I don't know enough about the SSH protocol, so I cannot offer
my help this time :-(

I did not dig into the functionality yet. Is there a way to "remember"
which pubkeys were already tried from ssh-agent and to not try again
from file (and hence ask for the passphrase)?

scp not shutting down in 2.1.1p4
...not always closed properly.
I run OpenSSH 2.1.1p4 (with the startup_pipe = -1; patch posted yesterday,
but that should not matter here) on HP-UX 10.20.
Any ideas what to do or what to look for? The behaviour occurs with
both ssh-1.2.27 "scp" and openssh "scp".

imapc and imap_acl
Hello (Timo),
yes, I know... maybe it's a bit far fetched, but I do have a use case.
Would it be (reasonably easily) possible to implement IMAP ACL
support for "imported" imapc namespaces/mailboxes?
There is no local directory (like with the virtual plugin) yet...

online course: SVM in R with Lutz Hamel at statistics.com
Support vector machines (SVMs) have established themselves as
one of the preeminent machine learning models for classification
and regression over the past decade or so, frequently outperforming
artificial neural networks in task such as text mining and
bioinformatics. Dr. Lutz Hamel, author of "Knowledge Discovery with
Support Vector Machines" from Wiley will present his online course
“Introduction to Support Vector Machines In R” Nov. 20 – Dec. 18 at
statistics.com.

blockwise sums
...should give me for instance
my.blockwisesum(1:10, 3) == c(6, 15, 24, 10)
Is there a builtin function that can do this?
One could do it by coercing the vector into a matrix of width n,
and then use apply,
but that is cumbersome if the length is not divisible by n,
is it not?
Any other ideas?

OpenSSH (CVS) performance observations
...8 seconds.
OpenSSH is built without optimization but as far as I could see, the
time is spent in the OpenSSL library (built with maximum optimization).
There are other places in which 3-4 seconds are spent each.
Can somebody verify these observations?
Setup is the default setting.

fatal: Not enough entropy in RNG
Hi,
I'm running openssh 2.1.1p4 on Solaris 7 (sparc). Occationally, when I
boot up the server, the startup script I wrote to start sshd fails to start
sshd with the following error:
fatal: Not enough entropy in RNG
What am I doing wrong??
Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening?
Is just restarting sshd a valid thing to do??
Thanks for any thoughts,
David
