Minor patches for builds against ancient platforms

acl and lazy_expunge plugins are incompatible?
Hello list. Following two previous unanswered requests (http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2014-August/097449.html and http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2014-May/096261.html), I fell into the same problem: ACL and lazy_expunge plugins do not work together. I had lazy_expunge enabled working OK. Then I activated ACL plugin, and gave dovecot.2 visibily over paolo.cravero's Inbox: the IMAP

See inherit user, need inherit group
Here is my scenario: I have two directories that have their access controlled by secondary groups of the users. \\server\coolguys is available to the group 'admins' while the directory \\server\averagejoes is accessible to the group 'lusers'. I have a user, we'll call him joe, that is primarily in the admins group, but is also in lusers. If joe is to copy a directory or a set of files from coolguys and place it into averagejoes, the directory still has the gid info from admins. This causes a problem for 95% of the people i...

Method Calling Problems
...ing to call a method inside of my LeviUserController named show_userland from my LeviInterfaceController class. No matter how I do it, I keep getting some type of error. If I make the method a class method, then my render_partial inside of show_userland can''t be found. If i call it using @luser = LeviUserController.new; @luser.show_userland; I get an error with a nil object exception. Y''all have any ideas? I would greatly appreciate the help. -- Topher Fangio fangiotophia@gmail.com http://www.fangiotophia.com Website Specialist Fangiotophia Designs (325) 660-7141

Samba and password protected directories
Hello, I have Win98 clients that need to connect "securely" to directories on Linux boxes. In smb.conf, I have added these home directories: [Luser Dir] comment = dir public = no browseable = yes writable = yes path = /home/luser Accounts have been created in the appropriate directories with proper accessibility, this includes passwords. This was done with "useradd -c "name" -m -s/bin/sh............., Then "...

procfs + chmod = no go
Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to limit user access on /proc without having to use securelevels. For some reason chmod 751 /proc (or 750) does nothing. Is this possible on FreeBSD 4.9 ? Can't find anything about it in the manual pages. Just want to prevent lusers from running: for file in /proc/*/cmdline; do cat $file; echo; done Greetz, Jimmy Scott

I might be interested in learning how to repair cars, >but that's not the moment. Well said. In an ideal universe a "simple" end-luser shouldn't have to know a single bloody thing about partitions, partition tables, drive geometry, for- matting, or any of that stuff. Nor should any such ordinary end-luser ever feel the need to look at ANY PART of the Syslinux Wiki. Why should they, if their only goal is, for example, to watc...

Bugs: SSH sometimes failing to report exit-status and more
.... I guess decompression is cheaper than decryption, and compressed data means less data to decrypt. This is highly data dependant and probably architecture dependant too, but generally I think using compression is a good idea. And a comment about having "ForwardX11 no" as default: When lusers don't get their X programs to work, they ask for advice from some other luser, who tells them to set $DISPLAY and do "xhost +" localy. (Usenet, mailing lists and universities are full of lusers giving bad advice.) Users with a clue, who know what "xhost +" mean, also knows...

Source for 9-911 Labels to attach to phones?
I looked on google for some time and haven't found a source for 9-911 labels to attach to phones. I have run into them in the past but I can't currently find a source. I am looking for a low volume were having them printed up for me would not be economical. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks -Jason -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Memory Leaks with Rails 1.2?
...ch of reports about the latest Rails "leaking" memory more than before. Please fill out this survey: 1) Have you noticed an increase in memory usage with the latest Rails 1.2? 2) Have you changed anything else in your application? a) No, really, don''t be a dumbass like the lusers you hate. Go look at your svn logs and really figure out if you''ve changed anything else. 3) I ask again, did you change anything else since as well as Rails 1.2? 4) Does going back to a previous Rails (if you can) get rid of the memory leak? 5) Have you tried taking a basic controller...
