Replacing HDD in x4500
...ce customers have been without their mail for 12 hours,
they can go a little longer, I guess.
What I was really wondering, has there been any progress or patches
regarding the system always hanging whenever a HDD dies (or is replaced
it seems). It really is rather frustrating.

compile OpenSolaris, I can try b114 now^h^h^h eventually ? I am really
eager to try out the new quota support.. has someone already tried
compiling it perhaps? How complicated is compiling osol compared to,
say, NetBSD/FreeBSD, Linux etc ? (IRIX and its quickstarting??)

ZFS userquota groupquota test
...bit low).
I was unable to get ZFS quota to work with rquota. (Ie, NFS mount the
volume on another server, and issue "quota 1234". It returns nothing).
I assume rquota is just not implemented, not a problem for us.
perl cpan module Quota does not implement ZFS quotas. :)

Sieve and locale (Japanese)

mail is send in iso-2022-jp, will it use iconv to change to utf-8 before the

that is unusual).
Or is it something on TODO?

But could be special situation as my LDAP version is fixed, due to production

since it does not try with the SSL libraries.

Dovecot shared quota with Maildir
...n using fs-quota.
(It is not that each account gets a fraction of the quota, but that all
accounts add up to the one quota).
Is this still possible to do with soft-quotas. To share one set. Dovecot
would have to go count files in multiple mail-directories so I would
guess no.

OR, Dovecot support (at least 2 level) directory hashing when specifying

Are there other solutions out there?

I take it I should run dovecot-auth as stand-alone, setting the AUTH_1
environment variable as well as a few others.

I am still running rc10, which works well but flips out regularly. (Previously
mentioned 'too many files open' bug, some leaks in locks) I will upgrade when
the LDAP changes are deemed stable.

Has it been already addresses in dovecot-1.1.18?

...eries does dovecot-auth perform? Any way to tweak this value?
Admittedly, postfix/dovecot does handle this situation correctly, as 'temporary
failure' and mail delivery is merely delayed. But at the same time, it *could*
be something with an easy fix as well.
Thoughts?

ZFS - SWAP and lucreate..
Good morning everybody
I was migrating my ufs ? rootfilesystem to a zfs ? one, but was a little upset finding out that it became bigger (what was clear because of the swap and dump size).
Now I am questioning myself if it is possible to set the swap and dump size by using the lucreate ? command (I wanna try it again but on less space). Unfortunately I did not find any advice in manpages.

Can any C programmers out there tell me how to fix Dovecot to default to

it seems like it would be a simple thing.
Right now, I use the autodetect mailbox feature because we want users to
choose to optionally be able to use Mbox format (we have some diehard unix
users with non-maildir clients). I have
