Periodic regression - lunar percent cover
Dear List,
I am trying include a lunar variable in a model and am having problems figuring out the correct way to include it. I want to convert the percent lunar illumination (fraction of moon showing) to a combination of sin and cos variables to account for the periodic nature of the lunar cycle. Would someone let me know if I am doi...

lunar notation in crontab
Crontab offers many refined facilities for Western calendaring, but none
for traditional Eastern-- lunar-- designations. So for example, if one
wants specify regular occurring events on full moons or on new moons,
there is no way to do this. Emacs (a text processor!?) accomplishes
this. The math for calculating lunar calendaring is already available;
mathematical functions are already available...

Guys,
Does the Windows 7 work with a Samba 3.2.5? If it does,
where can I find a documentation about it?

The local machine is called asus, the user account asususer, and the

I set up the user account asususer on the Samba server.I was able to
join the domain via the Computer properties & the Change button, and got
the expected “Welcome to LUNAR” message. This created the asus$ machine
account (in the “users” group).

Generating all possible models from full model

CentOS to RedHat and vice versa
...talled RedHat RPMS with their
equivalent CentOS versions or vice versa?
I was thinking of generating a list of all packages and then running
RPM or yum with a 'replace' option.
The reason for doing this:
Years ago I was tasked with building a RHEL4 system. Budgeting, time
constraints, the lunar cycle, etc.., prevented the purchase of an
equivalent development environment. So CentOS was used for the
development/test system. It sufficed for several years. Now I need to
make them as close to identical as possible which means registering
the development system in RHN and making it "stan...

Wine Java Error: Cannot find "winemenubuilder.exe"
Alright, so, I am trying to run a shimeji on my Mac. Shimeji's are these cute little animated characters that walk around your screen. I made a prefix that contains all the files required for the shimeji and when I try to run it I get these sorts of errors. I have no idea what is going on! I am not fluent in computer at all.
Help please. ):

Unfortunately I haven''t had the time to test / document this utility yet.
I will get around to it sometime next week.

using stepAIC with negative binomial regression - error message help
Dear List,
I am having problems running stepAIC with a negative binomial regression model. I am working with data on manta ray abundance, using 20 predictor variables. Predictors include variables for location (site), time (year, cos and sin of calendar day, length of day, percent lunar illumination), oceanography (sea surface temp mean and std, sea surface height mean and std), weather (cos wind direction, sin wind direction, wind speed, temperature, barometric pressure), and tides (dummy variables for high, falling, low, and rising). So predictors are binary, categorical, and c...

openssh 3.8p1 on Linux

works now. remote sshd is 3.7.1p2.
But sshd won't start even after recreating server keys. Even after
recreating moduli file as explained in man ssh-keygen.
I'm running Lunar Linux (source based distro), with kernel 2.4.24, glibc

I tried to debug sshd with gdb but I can't find any clue at this stage.
strace tells me that sshd, after opening /etc/ssh/ssh_host_key calls
read with size=0 ( read(3, "", 0) = 0 ). That sound...
