Hi guys, I''m installing Puppet on RHEL5 systems using KickStart but struggle with the first boot. Here''s my situation: 1) kickstart installs the system, including puppet from our local repo 2) after reboot I have to login and set the hostname and IP 3) then run puppet, register it with the server and bring in the config 4) configure puppet for automatic start I have to

2.0-testing for linux-2.6.14
Hi there, is there any chance that you update xen-2.0 branch for newer 2.6 linux kernels? I know xen-3.0 is now out, but we''re not going to upgrade our production systems as yet. We''d rather stick with 2.0(-testing) and newer kernels for some more if possible. Thanks! ID3 has a concept of "sort" tags, which provide a string for sorting purposes which is different from the (presumedly full name) of the usal tag. TSOP="Beethoven", TCOM="Ludwig van Beethoven". OpenSSL ENIGNE support for OpenSSH
...kage and proved to work (at least it didn't break anything) both with and without crypto engines. Tested also with VIA PadLock crypto engine (patches for OpenSSL are at http://www.logix.cz/michal/devel/padlock/ ) Would you consider including it in the official OpenSSH release? Thanks! The use for an XML based metadata format
...derstood ('drummer', 'sound engineer', even 'composer' won't get you far) or use a funny way of refining it in the value (such as artist=(composer) Beethoven), I think cast lists for films present a similar problem. There is consistency and indexability to be addressed (Ludvig van Beethoven; Beethoven, Ludvig van; Beethoven). Finally complex relationships are even harder to handle such as specifying a resource's relationship to the rest of a collection. > All I ask for is *not* to reinvent the wheel when there are already > working, semi-complete metadata for...

testing helpers
if I write a generic helper that isn''t specific to any one rails application or controller, what''s the best way to write tests for it? at the moment, I test it by including it in a generic controller in a blank rails app, and writing functional tests for the controller. Is that the best approach?

The use for an XML based metadata format
Daniel, these are all good ideas and worth progressing. However, it may be better not to merge too many goals in one format (MPEG-7 did that and ended up as a big mess). So, I suggest to start by structuring the types of things you want - then finding out which parts belong where into existing formats such as vorbis comment, Skeleton and CMML, and only then start to develop a new format. virtual routing issue
A most puzzling network conundrum has arisen while I was attempting to create a virtual network behind a virtual router which in turn connects the virtual network to my real network. My machine (192.168.103.23) is on the network with my router (192.168.103.1). The virtual router, tiara, has to connect my 192.168.103.* network with the virtual 10.0.0.* network which comprises two other virtual

basic question on how to compile 2.4 xen
Hi Can someone help me figure out a way to compile a 2.4 kernel in a 2.6 system. Basically it keeps failing because it needs the genksyms package, which is provided in the modutils package from redhat, but obviously this isn''t presetn on the 2.6 kernel. I was wondering how the xen maintainers go about compiling their 2.4 kernel and 2.6 kernel. Do you do it on different systems then
