Hi all, I have installed samba 3.6.22 on AIX 7.1 and join a windows AD with success. All seem to work fine, i have configured smb.conf, methods.cfg, user .... the following command work fine wbinfo -u, wbinfo -g, lsuser, id... The command "chgrp group file.txt" or "chown user file.txt" work also fine. Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm trying to get AIX to authenticate users off another Samba server (with an eye to doing the same off a Windows server at some point, just to be flexible). I have been using the binary distribution of Samba 3.0.22 to do this. I succeeded in getting the Domain users name by means of 'wbinfo -u', but I cannot list any user via 'lsuser -R WINBIND ...' nor do I get any information about a user via 'id user' - it tells me that the user specified cannot be found in /etc/passwd.
