AIX lssrc command error after installed OpenSSH
Hi, We compiled and successfully installed OpenSSH 3.8.1p1 (or earlier version), but has false respond from lssrc -a command. Example error message as: openssh daemon itself - "opensshd tcpip inoperative" or other daemon - "0513-001 The System Resource Controller daemon is not active" We've installed the following filesets on several AIX servers (both 5.1 and 5....

Is this the best place to ask puppet on AIX questions?
Hello. First post. I have been messing around with puppet on AIX a bit recently and have all kinds of questions about how puppet integrates with AIX, specifically regarding how the "service" and "package" resources work with AIX''s native commands (installp/lssrc/etc). Some searches of this group didn''t yield much info on AIX. Is there a better forum out there for puppet on AIX? -Parker -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. AIX openssh use of SRC control
I'm new to using openSSH on AIX and want to know how others are launching and maintaing sshd. I see where sshd has a -i option for use with inetd, but I am thinking about adding the AIX SRC APIs so that I can use the commands: lssrc, startsrc and stopsrc to maintain the daemon. -- Denise M. running sshd under AIX 4.3.3 ?
Hi, If anyone has managed to get sshd to run as a subsystem in the System Resource Controller under AIX 4.3.3 (a la mkssys), then please let me know how you did it... I can mkssys and startsrc it, but it dies immediately, leaving a child sshd running with another PID than startsrc reported, and lssrc reports sshd inoperative. Is sshd a process that should stay in foreground, not forking? Or does it fork every time to service a connection (excuse my ignorance)? Douglas Manton, I read your post of 2001-03-16 on this (Re: SIGHUP/av[0] restart failure (AIX)). Any clues? What am I forgetting? Than...

compiling samba 3.4.8 on CentOS_6.2
Hello All. Been trying without avail to make idmap work with my AD so I can get "real" UID/GID for SSH logins on a CentOS_6 box. Have heard from several sources that idmap has seen some serious changes since 3.5 and decided to roll back from the "stock" 3.5 that comes with CentOS_6 to 3.4.8. I'd like to see if it has the same problems. Installed a clean build of
