syslinux 4.02 hangs at "boot:"
...led syslinux 4.02 on a number of machines but only this one has a problem. The problem is that the machine hangs entirely after printing "boot:" on the tty. The stanza being booted in /boot/extlinux.conf is: label xe # XenServer kernel mboot.c32 append /boot/xen.gz dom0_mem=752M lowmem_emergency_pool=1M crashkernel=64M at 32M console= vga=mode-0x0311 --- /boot/vmlinuz-2.6-xen root=LABEL=root-ldndebvr ro xencons=hvc console=hvc0 console=tty0 quiet vga=785 splash --- /boot/initrd-2.6-xen.img and all the files in /boot definitely exist because the installation was done exactly the same way as on...

3.0.2-testing: pci_set_dma_mask, pci_set_consistent_dma_mask(pci, 0x0fffffff) returns < 0 (ICE1712)
Hi all, I''m currently running on Ubuntu Dapper and xen 3.0 testing. I noticed my sound card didnt work. I looked in dmesg and found this: Apr 9 17:49:29 phoenix kernel: [ 27.490852] architecture does not support 28bit PCI busmaster DMA Grepping the kernel I came up with this, from sound/pci/ice1712/ice1712.c: /* check, if we can restrict PCI DMA transfers to 28 bits */

Heterogeneous XCP 1.6 pool
Hi, I''ve been trying to use E5520 and X5650 together in an heterogeneous pool without success. I know the combination is not on the official XenServer supported list (http://hcl.xensource.com/CPUPoolsList.aspx), but I thought it would be possible to set the mask anyway and see for myself if the combination works… My problem is that the mask doesn''t "stick" after a

ParaGuest cannot see 30GB memory
Hi, I have buit Xen (32 bit) with PAE and can start multiple Paraguests with 4 gig memory, but cannot launch a single VM with more than 4 gb memory. I would like to launch 1 VM with 30GB or so memory. Are there any config paramters like kernel,/inittrd that need to be changed. I have the ramdisk set to the initrd I used to boot xen with PAE. Thanks - padma

[makedumpfile] extract vmcoreinfo from /proc/vmcore for Xen
Hi, --- background ---------------------------------------------------- * what the makedumpfile is: To shorten the size of the dumpfile and the time of creating the dumpfile, makedumpfile copies only the necessary pages for analysis to the dumpfile from /proc/vmcore. You can specify the kind of unnecessary pages with dump_level. If you want to shorten the size further, enable the
