using ezstream with stdin
I'm having a hard time not getting mp3 data to ezstream via stdin fast
enough. The vb.net application I'm writing, ezstream and icecast are all
running on the same machine (Widows XP). Some where in the process, a
buffer empties out and that results in a drop out when you are
listening. Usually the dropout happens at a song change.
At first I was chunking up the data according to bit

That leads to another good question - how can I create a link on my page

Making a smooth transition between sources?
Hello!
I'm setting up an icecast radio station. I'll usually be broadcasting from
this machine, but want to be able to make a smooth transition to an
ezstream instance that I can run on the same server as the radio station.
Unfortunately, my experiments haven't found a way I can make a transition
without knocking off all my clients. :-(
Any idea about best practices on this?

Icecast stats.xml
...eamLicensing needs.
If modifying Icecast 2.4.1 (or later) so stats.xml matches what
Icecast-KH outputs is not an option then perhaps some of the info
available in stats.xml could also be presented in a listeners.xml instead?
That way StreamLIcensing (and any other similar services, though after
LoudCity shut down there really aren't any others) only need to fetch...

With the stats from stats.xml plus a listener list, the needed info is
there in the .xsl (from what I can see)
The system StreamLicensing uses is fully automated, whereas the log
would have to be manually su...

Icecast stats.xml
...info is collected by StreamLicensing.
Some may wonder why bothering to humor StreamLicensig, but the thing is
that other licensing/royalty collectors did it the same way.
StreamLicensing are now sadly the only ones that cater to small
independent station that do not wish to be a pirate radio. (LoudcIty wet
belly up and Radionomy who know owns Shoutcast and WInamp does things
differently, Live365 also do their own thing.)
It is a shame that Icecast v2 can't be used/supported. Today Icecast v2
is not an option due to te lack of those stats and Icecast-KH is not
that well supported. Result...
