Lotos 1-2-3 date to POSIXct
I have some data that was created for import into a Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet
and on of the columns is time. The
time is akin to Julian were the value 1 is mapped "01-Jan-00 12:00:00 AM" in
Lotus 1-2-3. Is there a function in an R package that can convert this
numeric vector to a POSIXct vector?
With best wishes and kind regards I am

negative binomial family glm R and STATA
Dear Lister,
I am facing a strange problem fitting a GLM of the negative binomial
family. Actually, I tried to estimate theta (the scale parameter)
through glm.nb from MASS and could get convergence only relaxing the
convergence tolerance to 1e-3. With warning messages:
glm1<-glm.nb(nbcas~.,data=zonesdb4,control=glm.control(epsilon = 1e-3))
There were 25 warnings (use warnings() to see

tinydns/djbdns opinion poll
Good morning:
We're about to start moving our public DNS to in-house managed
servers. My first thought was "Linux + BIND" and we're done. Someone
in another business unit's IT dept. has suggested tinydns be used.
