apologies if you aready received this ?
...------------------- Hi Everyone : As I mentioned earlier, I am taking a lot of Splus code and turning into R and I've run into another stumbling block that I have not been able to figure out. I did plotting in a loop when I was using Splus on unix and the way I made the plots stop so I could lookat them as they got plotted ( there are hundreds if not thousands getting plotted sequentially ) on the screen was by using the unix() command. Basically, I wrote a function called wait() wait<-function() { cat("press return to continue") unix("read stuff") } and this worke...

[Kerberos] Error at Handbook?
...035 allows up to 16 character strings at this field (assuming that noting should be prepended to the field if it doesn't end with a point). Thus I've got at KDC log: ----- 2005-06-10T23:57:07 Server not found in database: krbtgt/EXAMPLE.ORG.@EXAMPLE.ORG: No such entry in the database ---- (lookat the point before '@'). Everythig is fine when changing DNS TXT record to "EXAMPLE.ORG" (without a dot at the end). I'm going to file a DOC/PR, but what security guru can say on the matter? Am I missing smth? I'm far away from thinking that I'm the only user who is us...

choosing best 'match' for given factor
Folks, I have a 'matching' matrix between variables A, X, L, O: > a <- structure(c(1, 0.41, 0.58, 0.75, 0.41, 1, 0.6, 0.86, 0.58, 0.6, 1, 0.83, 0.75, 0.86, 0.83, 1), .Dim = c(4L, 4L), .Dimnames = list( c("A", "X", "L", "O"), c("A", "X", "L", "O"))) > a A X L O A 1.00 0.41

Count the number of occurences in ranges
I got a vector of probabilities like, probs<-c(0.001,0.5,0.02,1,.....) Is there any nice and easy builtin function to get the number of occurences within some specified probabality range. Like with 2% it would be occur[1] = sum(probs[probs>0&probs<0.02]) occur[2] = sum(probs[probs>0.02&probs<0.04]) ... occur[50] =sum(probs[probs>0.09] & probs<1) (If it was a

Samba 2.2.5 update process
I recently downloaded the samba 2.2.5 update. I ran GZIP and tar. next i did the configuration according to Using Samba by Robert Eckstein, David Collier-Brown, Peter Kelly 1st edition Nov. 1999. Steps were as follows: ./configure make make install added swat to /etc/services swat 901/tcp after all of this it does not appear that samba was actually updated. I looked in samba.org for
