Expanding partial names
I'm writing wrappers for some functions that change some of the default
arguments. I'd rather not list all of the arguments for the low level
functions because there are about a dozen wrapper functions, and about
20 arguments to lowlevel. Instead I'm trying something like this:
lowlevel <- function(longname = 1) {
cat("longname = ", longname, "\n")
}

Error: in routine alloca() there is a stack overflow: thread 0, max 535822282KB, used 0KB, request 24B
Dear Colleagues:
Through your help an R related installation issue was resolved, but I now
have the following usage issue.
On any "get.var.ncdf" usage I am seeing:
Error: in routine alloca() there is a stack overflow: thread 0, max
535822282KB, used 0KB, request 24B
The same error is posted on a file as small as 50MB and as large as 500GB,

[draft PATCH] whitelist support for refuse options
This adds support for whitelisting the acceptable options in the
"refuse options" setting in rsyncd.conf. It introduces "!" as a
special option string that refuses most options and interprets
any following strings as patterns of options to allow.
For example, to allow only verbose and archive:
refuse options = ! verbose archive
The "!" does't refuse no-iconv,

[nbdkit PATCH v2] filters: Stronger version match requirements
We documented our intent of only allowing a filter to run with the
same version of nbdkit it was compiled against, but up to now, were
not actually enforcing that - we had only been insisting on the looser
notion of a matching ._api_version, which doesn't help when we've
forgotten to bump that macro when making incompatible API/ABI changes
(see commit 6934d4c1). However, we can't use

Thank you so much

[nbdkit PATCH 1/2] filters: Add .export_description wrappers
When extracting an obvious subset of a larger container (ext2, gzip,
partition, tar, xz), it's fairly easy to add a nice updated
description for what the client is seeing. Not all clients request
the description, but if you are worried about this leaking too much
information, it can be silenced with nbdkit-exportname-filter.

samba 4.1.3 -- multiple bugs & 1, 297 coredumps -- coredump backtrace + full-backtrace included
Hello,
A few months ago the distribution I use (Debian Testing) moved from Samba 3
to Samba 4 - I started seeing a lot of problems. Since then there are two
bugs I find occurring on a regular basis:
1. Consistent dumping core on a regular basis (very rarely, if ever
occurred with Samba 3)
a. $ ls -ltr *core*smbd* |wc -l
b. 1297
c. $ du -ach *core*smbd*|tail -n 1

[patch] fix for "refuse options" ignored due to popt
Hello,
I found the reason why "refuse options" is ignored on the server
side. When then 5th argument (int val) in the poptOption struct is
set to zero, the parsing function poptGetNextOpt() just continues
with the next arg, without returning. So check_refuse_options() is
simply not called in such cases.
The attached patch makes "refuse options" work with checksum and

Signal 11 in smbd 3.0.2rc2 on printer operation!
Our computers in our office ceased being able to print to a shared cups
printer today. Could not find the cause. Seems the smbd processes are
dying. Below is the stack trace produced by gdb bt full.
The Samba 'panic action' script, /usr/share/samba/panic-action,
was called for pid 5839 (/usr/opt/samba-3.0.2rc2/sbin/smbd).

XP Pro - Domain Login ... great trauma and sorrow
I really think this is a Windows problem, but since my very good friend Bill refuses to return my calls ...
The client is WinXP Professional
The server is RedHat 7.1 with SAMBA 2.2.2-8
I have rtfm several times both the ENCRYPTION and PDC-Howto, and I think I have implemented all of the requisite registry and passwd/smbpasswd/smb.conf settings.
The client will happily JOIN the domain, but my

also samba changed from 2.2.x to 3.0.x. Since this I have only truble.

this this commanline tools, only read and save as. no access about the pm,

Samba 4.7.1 Generating Core Dumps
Hi,
We are having issues with our samba server running on CentOS 7. It's generating core dumps and dumping them in the / (root filesystem) directory in the form of core.##### where the # is a series of numbers.
Snippets of log files and some troubleshooting commands are below. Hope someone can have a look and see if I should file this as a bug, as there were similar posts in the samba

NetCDF file: adding a variable
I am trying to create a NetCDF file with bathymetry (a matrix) and then to
add a grid type (an integer) as variables.
This is the relevant part of the code:

msv=-10
grdtp=2
# Dimensions
d1=dim.def.ncdf("lon","degrees",as.double(lon))
d2=dim.def.ncdf("lat","degrees",as.double(lat))

has_one
I''ve got an order model that stores order data.
One piece of data is a credit card type, which is a digit 1,2 or 3.
I have a cardType model that has an id, shortName and LongName for the
credit card merchant (visa, mastercard, amex).
I want to be able to say: order.cardType.shortName, but can''t seem to
get has_one working. It works with has_many and a finder_sql statement
