NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT
Samba occasionally fails with the following. I have seen many questions regarding this but no answers unfortunately. I am wondering what the setting is where I can increase this time out value of 10000 milliseconds in case that specific request is just slow. This is called many times a day and only just occasionally fails. I have looked through the entire manual for smb.conf and can't find a

File Locking under Windows - a solution ?
We are currently using Rsync (with cygwin) to propagate static files from a preview server (Windows) to our live servers (Windows) on demand. Unfortunately, because the live servers are *live*, inevitably some of the files we mean to update are in use and therefore locked by the windows filesystem. Since they are locked, they are not updated, and our servers get out of synch. Does anyone know

Errata: dovecot + ldap + virtual mailbox: building mail location path
Hi all again, I've just realized that I did a bad cut&paste in my previous mail, then I rewrite my request. I apologize. I am trying to set up my dovecot configuration using LDAP and virtual mailboxes. I succeeded in authenticating the users correctly with LDAP, but have problems with referencing the correct mail location directory. I manage several domains. The mailboxes are stored

time zone conversion

That is, if I know what time it is in New York, what is local time in London and Tokyo? Ex: Here's the conversion from New York EST/EDT time to London's GMT/BST time zone for three days in 2007. Note that the US and London change to daylight savings on

London meetup?
Following Luke''s very successful Puppet talk at GLLUG in London, which was so over-subscribed there were people queueing outside and pressing their little faces up against the glass, I wonder if the market will bear a London Puppet meet? If there are more than two or three people interested it might be worth arranging something, perhaps a pub session where we can talk about what
