A correction. You either need to open the plotting device prior to the simulation that includes your plotting commands and close it after the simulation or have the name change dynamically in your simulation so that the runs go in separate files. An example of the first method would be postscript(file="/where/to/put/file/filename.ps") ## your simulation commands dev.off() for the

Setting PS1 for ordinary users
CentOS-6 When I login as root I see this prompt: [root at vhost04 ~]# When I login as a non-priviledged user I see this instead: sh-4.1$ .bashrc and .bash_profile have identical contents in /root and /home/user. What causes the difference? Why? How does one change the default so that all normal users get a [userid at hostname pwd]$ prompt? I have loked in/etc/profile.d and /etc/bashrc

Hypervisor detection from within a Linux VM
Hello, Requirement: I have the need to support my apps(running on a Linux VM) on different *nix hypervisors(ESX/Xen etc). I need to know on which hypervisor my app is running. I read the CPUID usage thread - http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.kvm.devel/22643 but to be honest in the end I looked at http://lxr.linux.no/#linux+v2.6.34/arch/x86/kernel/cpu/vmware.c#L88 The vmware_platform()

Strange files
Hello, I am using Samba 2.0.3 on my FreeBSD 2.2.7 box. Works fine. It is already running for a few months with a small amount of windows95 users and last week we decided to move all our userfiles from our SCO box with visionfs over to the Samba machine. No problems so far. But, strange files are appearing in the directorys of the NT40 workstation users. Under Unix they look like Ne00: or Ne01: or

Out of connections, samba 2.2.x
Hi I have a problem with samba 2.2.2. (see below) I'm sure it's easy to solve but I can't figure out what to do. The thing I find confusing is that the newer and more powerful server can't perform as good as the old one. Any ideas? /Jonas Story: We had all our user homes on a Sun Ultra 2 (solaris 2.6, 30Gb store) and samba 2.0.6, and all was fine. But we ran out of disk and moved
