Vote for CentOS - AGAIN :)
The preliminary round voting is completed in the "2005 Readers' Choice
Awards" at Linux Journal.
CentOS was nominated in the "distribution:" category along with 18 other
Linux distros ... and we finished in the top 3 (along with Ubuntu and
FedoraCore).
Thanks to every one who voted for CentOS. I really did not expect that
we would be on the final ballot, though I am

Winbind problem when exec freeradius
Hil list!
I'm trying to authenticate Active Directory Users via freeradius. I
can do it in a general case (user and domain) without
problem. Now I have to do it restricting the authentication to the
members of a group.
I can exect the script (as is put in radiusd.conf) correct from the
command line:
Deb:~# /usr/bin/ntlm_auth --username=javi2
--require-membership-of='AAMM\MyGroup'

KPPP: why root?
Hi All,
I'm wondering about something that seems a bit odd. I've setup a CentOS
4 box for a client that is "still" using dial-up and to activate the
connection appears to require root privileges. Why is this?
The reason Linux was loaded on this box was to provide a very functional
box that could be easily locked down so when the cat was away the mice
couldn't play,

cache_traverse_validate_fn: unknown cache entry
Hi,
I tested the following.
stop winbind
rm /var/lib/samba/winbindd_cache.*
start winbind
And the error is gone.
I did notice the following, before and while having the log message.
running : net cache list | grep username
That shows the user.
Now after stoping , remove the cache.tdb files and starting i tested it again.
net cache list | grep username
! This did NOT show the

Samba, AD, 'short' name resolving...
...rndc.key";
controls {
inet 127.0.0.1 allow { localhost; } keys { rndc-key; };
};
Note, if you use remove dhcp things, you might need to add the ip next to localhost..
Like this { localhost; 1.2.3.4; }
So my guess is your missing the rndc.key or its wrongly implemented.
Below is the logpart of a pc registration of one of my pc's. Static or DHCP is exact the same in my logs.
If the above hints did not work for you, then i need the dhcp server and full bind config.
About these first 2lines, these exist always, why i dont know exact, but that has todo with the DLZ implementation....
