coexisting with samba2-ldap and samba3-ldap
...se still using old ldap attributes. I'm trying to change some parameters, for example (smb.conf): ldap filter = (&(uid=%u)(objectclass=sambaSamAccount)) and in /etc/ldap.conf: nss_map_objectclass sambaAccount sambaSamAccount nss_map_attribute pwdLastSet sambaPwdLastSet nss_map_attribute logonTime sambaLogonTime [...] many attributes (old rid, old primaryGroupID, etc.) are not identical and i don't know if i can map this and i don't know if samba take into account the /etc/ldap.conf configuration. exists some way to do this without having to update everything to version 3? thanks

samba-ldap and password expiration
Hello every body, i am using samba (2.2.8a) with ldap support. In the samba.schema, there are special attributes relatives to the user passord: pwdMustChange, pwdCanChange, kickoffTime, logoffTime, logonTime and pwdLastSet. All the samba's documentations i can found described those attributes as "currently unused", execpt the last one that represent the time modification since 1970. But what do the others attributes are for ? Can they be used and how ? For example, i found that pwdMustCh...

How do you add an "Administrator" account to ldap. I want to leave root in /etc/passwd but have "Administrator" in ldap I have checked Howto Collection and the Samba-Ldap-3 but they contain no information. The Ldap-Howto has a suggestion but then says not to use. Godfrey
