login_process_per_user referred to but not present in dovecot.conf?
Hi, I find login_process_per_user referred to in the comments in dovecot.conf, but never set. Is this a typo and should it be login_process_per_connection or what? Thanks, Rob

login_process_per_user I cant find this???
Hi All Just trying to config dovecot and I'm guessing there's been a change in the app. In the dovecot.conf and on http://wiki.dovecot.org/MainConfig I see "Number of login processes to create. If login_process_per_user is yes, this is the number of extra processes waiting for users to log in." but as a config option I only see "login_process_per_connection = yes" Has "login_process_per_user" been changed to "login_process_per_connection = yes"? Thanks Max

Not to be a bitch, but I've asked several times about some basic questions or examples to clarify the essentials for configuration. What do some of the parameters mean? Expecially the ones that are mentioned only one in a paragraph and no where else in the documentation or wiki. (ie: login_process_per_use) And there have been a few others as well. that I won't bother to repeat. But I've been sitting on this list for a while yet and have found that when it comes to configuration, none of the emails posted have been answered or addressed. The closest I got was a suggestion to use views...

Timo, The dovecot.conf file comments talk about login_process_per_user but this variable does not appear in the file. Do you mean login_process_per_connection instead? Jeff Earickson Colby College

Weird series of errors with dovecot-stable
I'm using the dovecot-stable from 7/30, authenticating against an OpenLDAP server. From time to time, dovecot stops responding to new queries. It seems to be a self-correcting problem, lasting about 20 minutes. Here's how it starts: Aug 18 19:38:23 cliff dovecot: imap-login: Disconnected: Inactivity [150.253.42.12] Aug 18 19:38:36 cliff dovecot: pop3-login: Disconnected: Inactivity

configuration
I've noticed that there are some parameters mentioned in the docs that aren't identified therein (ie: login_process_per_use). Is there a more generic set of docs that can identify what each of the parameters and what they do, or at least something that will allow me a simple how to to avoid embarrasing situations. I supposed I should only settle for ssl based connections (imaps/pops) but I will be open to digest-m...
