[LLVMdev] RFC: Improving our DWARF (and ELF) emission testing capabilities
...is also why IMHO our ELF emission in general isn't well tested. elf-dump is just too rudimentary and relies on simple (=dumb) binary contents dumps. The long-term solution for DWARF would be to enhance lib/DebugInfo to the point where it can handle all interesting DWARF sections. But this is a lofty goal, since DWARF parsing is notoriously hard and this would require a large investment of time and effort. And in the meantime, we just don't write good enough tests (and enough of them) for this very important feature. Therefore, as an interim stage, I propose to adopt some external tool tha...

Agent Call Back LOGOUT?
I can see how you log an agent in, but how to log one out? For login I think I'll have our people dial something like _8900XXXX, then use $(EXTEN:4} to get the callback extension automatically I can't find any better way at the moment, all my outgoing CID info needs to point to our main trunk line, but I'm not sure I can make that happen any other way than what I'm doing now

Using Shorewall + Linux Virtual Server LVS/DR
I''m havign a HUGE amount of difficulty getting shoreline to work with LVS. We use it here constantly so we know it works. The problem is packets come in, get directed to a webserver, webserver returns the packet to firewall, and then it goes into a black hole. rp_filter is off globally on all interfaces. LVS seems to be working right.... I use shorewall tcrules to mark packets on

Re: 5, 000 concurrent calls system rollout question
Why is using ulaw or alaw an unlikely scenario? I wouldn't use anything but ulaw\alaw. The Bells can compete on price and will if they have to. Where they CAN'T compete is quality. If there were something better than 711, I'd offer that. Well, there is 722, but not many things support it. ---- Mike Hammett Intelligent Computing Solutions http://www.ics-il.com ----- Original

The Oft Maligned comment field, initial thoughts.
...ived, and sorted. In reading through the comment tags discussion, I noticed that, once you allow one thing, everyone else jumps in with what's important to them, and you start to duplicate the proposed XML MetaData stream unnecessarily. Having a short field for identification purposes is a lofty goal, but one, I think, that is harder to reach than would seem apparent. One person noted that he has 8 copies of an Orbital song (pls. correct me if I'm wrong, I can't seem to find the reference again), and so merely having ARTIST/SONG TITLE in the comment field would not be enough...

Having written about 6 DWARF parsers, I strongly disagree it is either notoriously hard or a large investment of time and effort. People have written DWARF parsers on the weekend....

ideas for on-demand streaming
hey folks, i'm setting up an archive of mp3s and need to get an on-demand streaming solution up. i've got icecast running well and the streaming is great. the thing is that i need to let folks click a link and start listening from the beginning of an audio file. seems like i could script something to start up a new stream for each user and serve them up a unique url, but that seems a

Help with Data Warehouse app -- How to display data?
...ps) make those into a link to each other. - As above, I''d also like to add extra functionality. I setup acts_as_revisable in my database and it works very well. If a user has an elevated role, I''d like to have them be able to review the history of a record. These are pretty lofty goals and this will take some baby steps. I''m still new to Ruby/RoR, but I think it''s been hard (so far) to find good documentation that addresses some of these issues. Or maybe I don''t know the key words or how to approach this the Ruby Way (probably the case)? I'...

ideas for on-demand streaming
You can still do this from icecast as icecast can be a rudimentary http streamer. If you enter the following: http://your.url.com:8000/list.cgi this will popup a page that will detail some status info about your icecast server. About half way down, there should be a link pointing you to a listing of the current mp3 files that are available via http (need to define this list). Click on this link

7912 Compatible SIP Images?

voip-info.org mirrors?

Saving R graphics as various file types.
...package present [1] FALSE And then the all important: > convertTo("png",filePrefix="/foo/bar") I'm still pondering the above functions. The basic idea would be to make graphics file format conversions device driver independent. I'm not sure if this is too lofty a goal, since different device drivers will require very different further arguments... Anyway, all thoughts welcome. Barry
