Troubleshooting Samba - (2)
I am running SuSE V8.0, and Samba 2.2.7a on a small network server. I have been having problems relating to sorting out printing from an NT4 workstation to a laser printer on the Samba server. I had to reboot my Windoze PC and am logged in as myself (I have Administrator rights). I can see the shares by looking for the computer from Windows explorer using the ip 192.168.0.5 and can proceed

ssl connections frozen, client times out
Hi there, I'm using the latest Thunderbird & Dovecot. I'm trying to setup either pop3s or imaps. The plain versions of the protocols both work fine for me, even with the TLS option selected in Thunderbird. But when I try to use the ssl versions, my client does not negotiate - it just time's out. I have as much logging enabled as possible and the only thing that shows up

Problem with OpenGL
I'm using wine 20010326 to play Half Life. Works fine in software graphics mode, but not quite fast enough to be playable. In OpenGL mode, it runs at about 5 fps, and I get no textures. I have a Voodoo 3 3000 AGP. OpenGL works fine in native Linux (I get about 120 fps in the 'gears' program). Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to get to the bottom of this? -- Steve

Small setup
Hello All, I have a very small setup of 4 users and a X100P. Asterisk is currently running on an Athlon 1800 but the server it is running on is also our imap/web/mail/development/samba server and we are having a few issues with asterisk which I believe is down to to many tasks. What I intend to do is build a box just for asterisk(Ill call the old one obelix). I have a few machines in the loft

2 bugs for Dom0 crashes
Hi, I think #385934 and #385574 and probably be merged, even though they apply to different architectures. I asked the contributors of the former bug to check whether the -unstable-1-XXX package fixes their problem, as it did for me, but I did not feel like invading more on your space, so I'll leave the merging to you. -- .''`. martin f. krafft <madduck@debian.org> :

rsync 2.5.5 port to Novell NetWare
Hullo, all. I diligently consulted the suggested reading on the way in: > Welcome to the rsync@lists.samba.org mailing list! PLEASE READ THIS > IMPORTANT ETIQUETTE MESSAGE BEFORE POSTING: > http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html 'Twas a quick read, given that I'm the co-author. ;-> I recently received an odd inquiry from someone I didn't know at all,

Iridium integration / gateway
Hi list, I have a request to integrate Iridium in a Asterisk system. A quick search didn't return much: I expected to find products similar to GSM gateways, but this does not seem to exist. so I'd be very interested about possible solutions. Has it be done already, how? Thanks, -- Jean-Denis Girard SysNux Syst?mes Linux en Polyn?sie fran?aise

Recover from inadvertent change to domain SID
I have run Samba 2.2.2 without problems for three years. The server acts as the domain controller for a domain of thirty XP/2000 computers. Two weeks ago the domain SID was accidentally changed. I can confirm this by looking at backups of /etc/MACHINE.SID. I am not sure how the SID changed but I _think_ that it may have occurred during testing for an upgrade to Samba 3 :( I now find that _some_

Problems with vorbis sdk
Hi, Sorry if this question has been already asked but I'm new to this mailing list. I just wanted to try the sdk under windows with VC6. I've made a new project (a console application) and used the example vorbisfile_example.c (I've made the test in a DLL too). But when I launch the program it crashes Kernel32.dll. The crash appends when the function ov_open is use. Any body

Is the X100P a WinModem?
So I've been on the Asterisk list for a long time. Mostly looking to set it up as a cheap alternative to a commercial MeetMe bridge, as a for-fun project. I keep noticing the Wildcard FXO X100P sorta seems like a Winmodem. Winmodems are basically a sound card chip tied to a pots port, where the Winders driver takes on the MO/DEM functions in software. I've always despised them as a data

Caller ID with BT CD50
Hi All, Having searched the archives, I can see there has been much discussion at various points regarding capture of caller id information from good old BT. If I understand correctly, it seems that not only do the drivers not currently support it, but my X101P possibly/probably can't do it anyway due to hardware? So, that leaves me with the modem route, which seems more and more unlikely,
