accessing Datasets
Dear R people, This is probably a FAQ, and a silly question besides, but... a lot of R packages have datasets contained within them. cf. spatial has "topo". Once I have loded the appropriate library, how do I access the datasets contained within? I know this must be very simple, but I have spent some (fruitless, frustrated time) trying to do this, so am asking for help. Thanks, Faheem. -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-....

Error: cannot route packet - please help
Hi, I?m fighting with a silly problem: my syslog tells me tinc cannot route a packet. I can use a telnet or the good ol ping, it is the same effect. When I?m pinging from the laptop (172.16.11.2) the network address (172.16.11.0) or any address numerically lower than the laptops address, the packet gets routed, otherwise not. And when I ping the network address, I get the reply twice, as to be

tinc rel 1.0.1 gets aborted in OPENSSL call
...irst connection handshaking (via a TCP connection), the server hosted process gets aborted. The remote end sees a timeout. For now I went back to 1.0pre8, but it would be great, to see the new thing running. If you need more information, help or resources, please, mail me. [LLVMdev] Questions about GPU code generation/ VS development
Hey everyone, I've been working for a while on a virtual machine/DSL (for lack of a more precise term) specialised for graphics. I hope to allow domain specific optimizations, eg folding together post-processing passes, or automatic LODing for procedural textures. I'm planning to make the renderer itself to be defined at runtime, to allow foward rendering, deferred rendering, raytracing,

Serial port on the domU
I configured a domU to access to the physical serial port of the dom0 (/dev/ttyS0) typing this in the domU configuration file: irq = [ 4 ] ioports = [ "3f8-3ff" ] The domU starts without any error, but the serial port isn''t recognised. The /dev/ttyS0 device exists on the domU, and I blacklisted the serial_core, the 8250 and 8250_pnp modules on the dom0. What is the problem?

Bug report (and workaround): the network freezes when the key expires
Hello Guus, I'm now using your incredible tool since May and it works good for me. But I had to figure out a problem with the network (at the moment only a peer to peer network with one dial up peer), when the key of the connecting host (the dial up peer, not the "server") expires. Reexchanging the keys seems to work (according to the log files) but after that the data flow is

tinc vpn over http-tunnel
Hi Guus, I?m using tinc since 1.0pre4 (and still use pre4) - it?s a great thing. Since these day?s a part of my VPN relies on a http-tunnel (because you used a single TCP connection as carrier). With 1.0pre4 that was very easy to setup using the TCPonly setting. But with 1.0pre5 it seems you changed the carrier connection setup, so that my old setup didn?t work anymore. In the meantime you

If this > behaviour is undesirable (for instance because of firewalls or other > restrictions), please use an older version of tinc (I would recommend > tinc-0.2.19). However, I picked up the following on the tinc mailing list archive: >Johannes Lode wrote: >> So is it possible now again to use a single http tunnel (aka a single >> TCP connection) as a carrier connection between two tinc daemons? > >With 1.0pre7, yes. > > Ivo My question is how to achieve http-tunnelling using tinc 1.0pre7 or pre8? varimax rotation difference between R and SPSS
Hi, I am puzzeled with a differing result of princomp in R and FACTOR in SPSS. Regarding the amount of explained Variance, the two results are the same. However, the loadings differ substantially, in the unrotated as well as in the rotated form. In both cases correlation matrices are analyzed. The sums of the squared components is one in both programs. Maybe there is an obvious reason, but I

dyn.load and/or add new package (Windows 98)
Hi, I have been trying to dyn.load a library (rq.obj), which will allow me to run a quantile regression function, but so far unsuccessfully. I have tried under windows 98 and R 6.24: 1) dyn.load("d:\\...\\rq.obj") 2) dyn.load("d:\...\rq.obj") 3) 1 and 2 accounting for case sensitivity. 4) dyn.load("d:/.../rq.obj") 5) Place the files in the directory where from I

Pxelinux/memdisk with Universal TCP/IP Network Bootdisk floppy
Just for the record, I want to let the list know that I succeeded in booting a modified Universal TCP/IP Network Bootdisk floppy from http://members.iinet.net.au/~bdriver/bootdisk/ I started with a Win98 Bootfloppy from http://www.tobs.uku.co.uk. Then I made a disk image from this, using dd.exe from cygwin. Then I converted this disk image from 1.44MB to 2.88MB with winimage. Then I copied
