#1 Asterisk and Locustworld
I currently working on a project using Locustworld's wireless mesh network
and running SIP through the network. I want to install Asterisk as server
running sip and Digium FXO FXS dev lite card. Unfortunately I having the
time of my life to install Asterisk. The astinstaller does everything

Linking 3 Asterisk box, server in the middle type of thing? (IAX?)
Hi,
not sure if it's possible to do something like this. My main * box
here at home is sat on the local lan,
192.168.1.0 , also on this lan I have another * box which is running
as part of a wireless Meshbox
(http://www.locustworld.com) .
Now then, this meshbox has a wireless connection to another meshbox at
a friends house. These meshboxes
use weird IP addresses in the 1.x.y.z range (http://www.wiana.org).
They can talk to each other fine though.
What I would like to do, is to get the (meshbox/asterisk PC) to
forward IAX c...

OT: Recommendation for Dynamic DNS on Meshbox?
I'm going to do a deployment of LocustWorld MeshBoxes in some of our remote
locations. Build 90 comes with Asterisk 1.0, and our plan is to use the
MeshBoxes as a WAP for non-Asterisk uses but also to add a 2nd NIC to deploy
Snom's in the remote location. This works fine (was suprisingly easy to do),
and I have the Meshbox running Asteri...

voip encryption options
I've looked around briefly for what options are available for
encrypting the media stream using asterisk. I did not see any SRTP
support, and it looks like there is some initial work on iax2
encryption, but whether it works is still open for question I guess.
I'm also curious of other solutions that could be bolted onto the
front end of asterisk to provide encryption, and are there

Lower cost router suitable for VOIP ?
Hi,
we're testing Asterisk 1 RC 2 behind ordinary router and NAT. Since we're
sharing network with web server it seems like voip packets are not coming
through fast enough (Digium demo dies after few seconds...). It's the same
if I make direct calls (passing Asterisk) so we conclude it's network
problem - it also work normally outside our router...
I wonder what solutions can we

Wireless LANs and Asterisk
Has anyone had any experience with wireless LANs and Asterisk?
We have and here are my impressions.
We configured an Asterisk in the office as a precaution to see how it
would work for our own retail customers. Our office is open space, about
800 sq ft. (20x40 area). We use Snom200 and Grandstream SIP phones.
Using the latest Linksys wireless access point (WAP54g) and 3 wireless
bridges

Voice Over WiFi
Hello all,
this is not really an * question but it is somehow related, i am trying to
develop a working proposal for cheap and quick telephony services using Voip
running over *. By running a wireless network (over 802.11 a/b/g devices),
i plan to be able to reach customers directly with eithe table top or
handheld 802.11 sip enabled phones.
But the disadvantage is that how do i power each radio
