Create machine account samba 3 - can I delete machine in /etc/passwd ( I use ldap backend ) ?
Hi, The idea is to avoid to have machines accounts in /etc/passwd and store all on the ldap. I must have a machine account in /etc/passwd ( normal way ) to create the account with pdbedit -a -m machine_account. In fact once it is created , I can delete the account in the localmachine and machine can connect without any problems. ( the account stay only in the ldap ). I 've done it.

ssh reverse DNS failure
I use dyndns's (free) service to access a remote machine with a dynamic IP address. The machine is running under CentOS-6.0. I can ssh into the address given me by dyndns (*.homelinux.com), but when I do this I get the warning "reverse mapping checking getaddrinfo for" * "failed - POSSIBLE BREAK-IN ATTEMPT!" This doesn't really matter, as I normally use OpenVPN for

assigning group permission on clients in a domain
I need to assign permissions to groups on clients of a Samba PDC. The only groups I can see on a W2K client are default W2K groups (Domain Users, Domain Admins, SYSTEM, DIALUP, etc...). I mapped the Unix group "users" to "Domain Users" in username map users = "Domain Users" but of course this is a workaround. This cause a lot of "funny" things. When I

Problem with stale smdb processes when users log out
I'm running Samba 3.0.0-15 (default install) on a Fedora FC1 machine. I've attached the smb.conf file below. The Samba server is acting as a WINS server on our testlab network, but is not a PDC, nor is it joined into a domain. Users authenticate by using a username/password that is local to the Samba server. The problem I'm seeing is that when a user has been connected to the

[Samba4] 4.3.0 trust relationship
Hi all, I was testing the 4.3.0 version to see what is available with trust relationship but except having my DCs telling me there are trust relationship and using the global catalog to perform search (but with only search for object in a.domain.tld when search is performed against dc.a.domain.tld) I can do nothing else. My own knowledge on that subject is quiet null so I come to you asking some

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] patch to compile llvm-gcc using nightly tester script(NewNightlyTester.pl)
Rajika, A couple of comments: - You should provide a way to specify where llvm-gcc is built (just like llvm). - I would highly recommend allowing the user to only update llvm-gcc and not check it out from scratch each time. Checking out llvm-gcc is very time consuming. You would need to make sure that llvm and llvm-gcc have the same rev number and nuke the llvm obj/install dirs so you get a

R.DLL mapping by P/Invoke
After a long processing, I was able to create a version of a small C# class that was able to emulate the rproxy by P/Invoke. This is mostly to find a workaround a performance problem of the StatConnector. It's almost work but ... I have strange memory exception when I call the print function. The variable seems to not survive from one call to the other. As there is no debug symbol for

Using R.dll in .NET IPC
Hi - I wrapped R.dll up using somebody code online (see below). I am comparing R on .NET IPC with R(D)COM. I got it all working. Except, I realize that in my client code of the IPC remoting, if I call 'plot' function in R via EvaluateNoReturn, I don't seem to see any results on the R plot window (although the window pops up). Is there anything to do with the code of R.dll wrapper
