make errors while compiling
...don't exist on my
system. I've tried several clean installs and get the same result each
time.
RPM says I'm using the following C and Fortran packages:

I don't have much experience compiling files of this sort, so I can't
interpret the error messages properly. I'd be very grateful for advice
on what I'm doing wrong, and how to remedy it.

Installing Java 7 on a system with Java 6
My system is 5.6, with upgrades. I installed Java 6 from the Centos
repository. It doesn't seem to have Java 7. I need the development
package. How can I install Java 7 development safely? I imagine I will
first have to uninstall Java 6.

[PATCH] internationalisation: Replace autopoint infrastructure with libintl-perl
