I renamed syslinux.efi to BOOTX64.EFI I copied my files boot.msg, help.msg, logo.16, syslinux.cfg, vmlinuz into /EFI/BOOT So, there are no files in the root directory of the 1st partition. Yes, it boots, I get the "Loadin vmlinuz... ok", then that's it. As before, hangs, no output to screen. I have no idea what to do next. Regards Barry

Hi all, Sorry for arriving late to the party. First, some context: vld1 is not the same as a pointer dereference. The alignment requirements are different (which I saw you hacked around in your testcase using attribute((aligned(4))) ), and in big endian environments they do totally different things (VLD1 does element-wise byteswapping and pointer dereferences byteswaps the entire 128-bit

when i browse imap with thunderbird, attachments are loadin/downloading really slow although they are size around 2Mb, it takes up to half minute to get it ..really annoying (server is in the same network as client) any idea why is so slow?

Just discovered that there might be a problem with the latest Dovecot update thru portupgrade. If I reboot my BSD (6.2-PRERELEASE), it stopped/hanged during boot-sequence. Thanks to Jack Raats problem is solved now; he will explain _exactly_ what went wrong... regards, Jos
