initramfs scripts + cpio archive stuff
...modification to mount IDE drives, etc. Issues that need to be addressed at some point: 1. how do we get kernel command line parameters into initramfs? my favoured option is to remove the ones we care about from the kernel, they will then appear in the environment for the init script 2. load_ramdisk currently does not perform any detection of gzip vs romfs vs ext2 vs minix. If this feature is required, we may have to look at file(1). I've already looked at file(1) around klibc 0.17 time, and it wasn't anywhere clean enough for klibc. 3. do we need to worry about initrd supp...

CentOS 6 PXE boot:Unable to download the kickstart file
We have CentOS 6 manual installation working by PXE booting from a RHEL5.6 PXE/TFTP server. However, when we add a Kickstart file in the PXE configuration: kernel CentOS-6-i386/vmlinuz append load_ramdisk=1 initrd=CentOS-6-i386/initrd.img network ks=nfs:130.226.86.4:/u/rpm/kickstart/ks-centos-6-clean-i386.cfg then the CentOS 6 client install reports "Unable to download the kickstart file". The console 3 reports "failed to mount nfs source". We believe the NFS server is OK becaus...

CentOS 6 PXE boot: Unable to download the kickstart file
...rect explanation! Our RHEL5.6 PXE/TFTP/NFS server is certainly configured for NFSv3. I haven't explored the NFSv4 approach though. How can we tweak the CentOS6 Kickstart installation to explicitly request an NFSv3 service in the PXE config file: kernel CentOS-6-i386/vmlinuz append load_ramdisk=1 initrd=CentOS-6-i386/initrd.img network ks=nfs:130.226.86.4:/u/rpm/kickstart/ks-centos-6-clean-i386.cfg To rephrase my question: Where do we find documentation for the vmlinuz append flags shown above, in particular documentation of the ks=... flags? Hopefully there'll be some way to force...

isolinux, extlinux and accented characters
Hello, First of all, thanks very much for this piece of software, it's working like a charm. I'm using it to boot a Linux distro I'm working on. What I want to deal with is the display of accented characters in ISOLINUX. First, I set EXTLINUX up to boot an ext2-formatted USB stick. No problem so far. I wrote a config file ordering to load a font (lat-9w) to display french
