Convert COLON separated format
I have a bunch of data sets that were created for the libsvm tool. They are in "colon separated sparse format".
i.e.
1 5:1 27:3 345:10
Is a row with the label of "1" and only has values in columns 5, 27, and 345.
I want to read these into a data.frame in R.
Is there a simple way to do this?

PPPoE setup
...router (so I can get no only IPv4 addresses but also
IPv6 addresses!).
Here are his 'instructions' to me:
"Basically you start pppoe, I give you the username and password for it,
and then I set the router to passthrough modem mode, and you initiate
the PPPoE session directly with my LNS back here. You'll get a dynamic
IP on the dsl side (which is normal) and then you just set up your
static routes in the linux box as normal. My LNS automatically routes
your traffic to the IP it randomly assigns to the DSL link. Once we
verify that IP6CP is up, I can assign you a /48 and you ca...

Using key.opts in Ecdf/labcurve (Hmisc package)
I'm presumably missing something very obvious, but how does one use the
key.opts argument in labcurve (via Ecdf)?
In this example, I want the key to be big and have a blue background, but
it isn't and doesn't.
ch <- rnorm(1000, 200, 40)
sex <- factor(sample(c('female','male'), 1000, TRUE))
Ecdf(~ch, group=sex, label.curves=list(keys=c("f",

Turn on SIP debugging from DialPlan
...remote system with limited
disk space.
I would love to turn on debugging while making the troublesome calls, then
turn it off afterward.
Tcpdump is great, but starting it and stopping it and keeping all that data
would still be an issue.

do darkice and shout play together well
Mixice (www.lns.com/papers/mixice) does. I have it running on
FreeBSD 4.x machines for KKSF, KPFA, KFCF, etc. for a live MP3
stream (icecast 1.x.x). I will have an OGG version of it soon as
we have some demand for better quality streams.

I want to connect to a l2tp server from centos.
I have a server currently connecting to a pptp remote server.
This server(lns\lac) has the option for pptp connections and l2tp
connections.
The l2tp connections are not using ipsec encryption at all.
I have seen couple guides\tutorials on the internet:

I want to connect to a l2tp server from centos.
Hey Gordon,
I do not have any security issue in this network.
I need to connect to a remote network on a secure network.
The options are pptp or l2tp(no ipsec encryption) so I do want to use
l2tp like in (lac\lns) and I am looking for a client for CentOS.
Note that it works in ubuntu so it is possible to achieve the same with
CentOS but I do not know what is behind the gui that initiates the
connection for l2tp.
With pptp I have no issue and I have a connection which works a lot of time.
Thanks,
Eliezer...

puppet autosign by VLAN IP
Hi,
Can puppet autosign work by giving vlan IP instead of domain?
For example, in the autosign.conf file, instead of using
*.mydomain.org, I want to give 172.18.133.*
But it does not seem to work if I give the IP address. But I don''t
want to limit the client from *.mydomain.org by only allow certain
vlan client not all the are in the same domain.
Thanks,
-Haiyan

[PATCH v2] daemon: Remove custom Augeas lenses.
v2 of previous patch, which fixes some missing bits.
For now I'm going to go with Pino's RHEL 7.1 patch, since it
is at least smaller than this. So I'm sending this to the list
just to have it archived for later.

There is also mixice which is a perl script that will do live
encoding. :-) Currently in use at a number of commercial and
non-comm stations.

broadcast FM radio
...uming
you are running a UNIX-like OS like *BSD or Linux, that is pretty
easy with an FM card like the Hauppauge TV/FM card driving the
analog input of a sound card like a Sound Blaster. At that point
taking the /dev/dsp PCM audio and shoving it into something like
my MIXICE perl script (http://www.lns.com/papers/mixice) or Liveice
(http://star.arm.ac.uk/~spm/software/liveice.html) program will do
the trick.
If you want to FM broadcast a stream, then get your self a FM
transmitter kit like the Ramsey (http://www.ramseyelectronics.com)
FM10A transmitter kit and have the audio card drive it.
