VST plugin (ez drummer)
Hi, I just registered. I have a problem related to wine: lmms can run some vst plugins with VeSTige, so I tried to get ez drummer working. It didn't work, so I downloaded Toontrack Solo, that is a program needed to run ez drummer as a standalone, and not as a plugin. It still wouldn't work, neither as a standalone. I made a few searches and I found ou...

LMMs with some variance terms forced constant
Hello, I have been asked to help perform a meta-analysis with individual- and aggregate-level data. I found a nice article on this, and the idea is easy to understand: use a mixed effects models, but for the studies where there is only aggregate level data, force the variance to be that which was observed. Unfortunately, I am struggling to see how to implement this in R. I am familiar with

CentOS for musicians?
...ything by hand? A repository that would provide low-latency kernel (realtime one?): I've found the CentOS-RT from the CERN + (1)). Specific tools (from Jack/qjackctl, carla, audacity .. to the DAW), I've found stuff on different repositories. On a CentOS7 box I could setup jackd, audacity/lmms (from the sources) and reaper (ardour from nux depo is way to old), I know what to use at end-user software but would like to find a CentOS variant/repo where software is recent (sometimes critical for audio devices). Any advice? (1) https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterpris...

analyzing binomial data with spatially correlated errors
Dear R users, I want to explain binomial data by a serie of fixed effects. My problem is that my binomial data are spatially correlated. Naively, I thought I could found something similar to gls to analyze such data. After some reading, I decided that lmer is probably to tool I need. The model I want to fit would look like lmer ( cbind(n.success,n.failure) ~ (x1 + x2 + ... + xn)^2 ,

R Package about Variable Selection for GLMM (Generalized Linear Mixed Model)?
Hi all, I have searched for a long time to find out R program about V ariable S election for GLMM (Generalized Linear Mixed Model). I saw several great R packages for V ariable S election. I  also found several R packages for GLMM. But, I did not find yet R package about V ariable S election for GLMM even though sevel  papers about it have been published.   In fact,  I need V ariable

generalized mixed model + mcmcsamp
Hi, I have fitted a generalized linear mixed effects model using lmer (library lme4), and the family = quasibinomial. I have tried to obtain a MCMC sample, but on calling mcmcsamp(model1, 1000) I get the following error which I don't understand at all: Error in .local(object, n, verbose, ...) : Update not yet written traceback() delivers: 4: .Call(mer_MCMCsamp, ans, object) 3:

Why lmer() is not working, altough lme4 is installed?
I have installed lme4 library, but when I try something with lmer() function, I receive error message. On the other hand, I can use lme() function from the same library. Are those two the very same function or not? I am a bit confused. I am using: $platform: "i386-pc-linux-gnu" $arch: "i386" $os: "linux-gnu" $system: "i386, linux-gnu" $major: "2"

...out it have > been published. Such methods may or may have been coded in R at present. It would be helpful to (a) post references for the 'several papers' you refer to and (b) post further queries to the R-sig-mixed-models mailing list, which is more appropriate for questions about (G)LMMs. This may also be an appropriate place for the comment, "tell us what problem you are trying to solve, not just which methods you want to use", since sometimes people on the list are aware of different (and/or better, at least according to some criteria) methods for solving the same pr...
