Memory issue in kernel sctp implementation
Dear all,
I'm running into a possible memory issue with the SCTP implementation
in CentOS 6, using lksctp-tools. So far I've not seen the problem with
other distributions yet.
The problem is that whenever a SCTP client connection is initiated to
a second host and port at which no SCTP server application is
listening
The scenario is simple:
- call socket() to create a socket.
- call sctp_connectx(...

Info requested on XEN and CentOS4.3
...ems to put to the list for clarification.
1. I had to remove the OS version check to get past the install script's
requirement for RHEL-4.1. I know that this is not a good thing and I
would like to know what alternatives, if any, are preferred to handle
this sort of issue.
2. I had to remove lksctp-tools and lksctp-tools-devel in order to get
xen to build. What are the implications of this?
3. On the first boot after installing xen I received a warning
suggesting that I rename /lib/tls to /lib/tls.disabled. What is the
reasons for this and what are the implications of doing so?
Sincerely,...

Building a new 2.6 kernel
...quot;.
Was it build using the correct name or might something be misconfigured.
3) When I entered the following command:
"rpm -i /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/kernel-2.6.934.ELcustom-1.i386.rpm"
I get the following error:
"error: Failed dependencies: kernel >= 2.6.10 conflicts with
lksctp-tools-1.0.2-6.4E.1.i386"
The "kernel >= 2.6.10" does not make sense but I was wondering if it had
anything to do with the file being named kernel-2.6.934.... or is there some
other problem I should be looking for?
Ideas anyone?

Trimming the fat out of a Centos 4.4 Installation
Hi, just to avoid re-inventing the wheel, is there any document that
can help me reduce even further a "minimum" installation of Centos 4.4
(BTW can you say 600mb is minimum)?
I am in the process of creating a small Centos-4.4-based Asterisk box
and I need to boot it from a CF card. Deleting useless packages will
help me do what i want.
Example: even a minimum install of Centos 4.4 (or

[PATCH] Basic SCTP support for OpenSSH client and server
...run autoreconf after applying this patch since there are
changes to configure.ac.
SCTP will be automatically enabled if detected by configure. If you pass
--with-sctp, configure will fail if SCTP is not detected.
The include file <netinet/sctp.h> is required. Linux users may need to install
lksctp <http://lksctp.sf.net/> before this file is present.
You may need to adjust system settings to enable some features of SCTP.
For Linux, see the sysctls under /proc/sys/net/sctp such as addip_enable and
default_auto_asconf, both of which should be enabled; see

Iproute2 ''Makefile options'' in 2.5.59
Dear all,
Is iproute2 necessary for IPv6 to work properly on 2.5.59 kernel?
I''ve tried all combinations in the makefile for ADDLIB and LDLIBS but
still get the following errors:
I''ve applied the following patches to my kernel patch-o-matic-20020825
and Lksctp-2_5_59-0_6_5.patch
I''ve also installed iptables-1.2.7a.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Regards,
Se-Hsieng

...ade. Do
a test run of yum upgrade kernel (Do you like pain?). Somethings that
would conflict with a kernel upgrade can be safely removed.
Examples from my experience:
yum remove pcmcia-cs
yum remove xorg-x11-xfs
yum remove kudzu (Probably a bad idea)
yum remove pm-utils
yum remove gcc
yum remove lksctp-tools ImageMagick
yum remove oprofile
yum remove *-devel
yum remove ppp
yum remove isdn*
