Trying to install rjags on Mac OS X 10.5
...e. I am trying to install rjags 1.0.1 on Mac OS X 10.5 (see http://www-fis.iarc.fr/~martyn/software/jags/). I have R.app 2.6.1 installed. JAGS 1.0.1 is apparently successfully installed. I (think I) know this because when I type 'jags' into Terminal, I get the following: Macintosh:Desktop ljs$ jags Welcome to JAGS 1.0.1 on Thu Dec 27 20:56:09 2007 JAGS is free software and comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY Loading module: basemod Loading module: bugs . However, when I try to install rjags, I get the following problem. Macintosh:Desktop ljs$ sudo R CMD INSTALL rjags_1.0.1-1.tar.gz Pass...

Solaris 10 / ZFS file system major/minor number
...ss the same major minor number for NFS shares. Does anyone know how ZFS fixes this problem. I read something on NFSv4 in Linux that has the "fsid" option of mount that allows you to set the device name instead of the major/minor number. Does Solaris 10 have anything like this? ZFS file system create/export question
...ID or hostName? Below is a snipplet from the ZFS Admin Guide. It appears that this can be overwritten with import -f. importing a pool that is currently in use by another system over a storage network can result in data corruption and panics as both systems attempt to write to the same storage. ljs This message posted from opensolaris.org

ZFS write time performance question
...ZFS record size to 8KB the KB written per second averaged 110KB. My questions by be too general to answer here but I thought I would try. Why does ZFS write more traffic to disk then VxFS? Why does ZFS write more traffic to disk when the Record Size is variable instead of fixed in size? Thanks, ljs This message posted from opensolaris.org
