Mates, On my Suse 9.0 pro installation, I updated Samba from 2.2.8a to 3.0.7. The upgrade went flawlessly, Samba is happily sharing all the files it was before. However, I can no longer print via cups. I have a HP LJ4 attached to the Linux box that worked great before the upgrade. I have 2 XP clients. I've set up Samba and LPRng for HP printers with JetDirect cards. It works for one user at a time. But if the printer is off-line or busy, the samba client does not get an error message, but the job gets lost. :( I would like the print jobs to be spooled on Linux even when there is an active print job or when the printer is off-line. We just got two of these HP LJ M602 "enterprise" printers in, and I'm trying to work out what driver/ppd. The model's not listed in the current - does anyone know what might work for it? I really don't want to have to install hplips on 140 or 150 systems.... mark

I noticed your comments on the samba web site about the performance issue you were experiencing with the delay in opening files. I am having similar issues when accessing files off the server, I was wondering if you ever found a resolution or cause to the problem.
