Playing a recorded mp3 file like a livestream
Hello, in advance: You can also answer me in German. I know Icecast over 10 years very well. My problem is this and I am trying to describe it very short: If my Icecast stream/mount is offline, a recorded MP3 file should be played via the Icecast mount. The mount is configured as follows: <mount>     <mount-name>/LiveStream1.mp3</mount-name>

Playing a recorded mp3 file like a livestream
Hi, For question 3, I think there is ezstream (https://icecast.org/ezstream/) which can to an endless loop like you wish. All files should (actually must) be encoded in the format of your stream. Also I would setup the mpuntpoints in a row: - live mp with fallback to ezstream mp - ezstream mp with fallback to static file So if ezstream fails you deliver the static file. Most notable in your

Yes, everything else has always worked great. I'm lisrening to EpiphanyRadio sream via xmms right now. *8^) I've tried the commercial OSS stuffs long ago, haven't had need of them. Oh, my soundcard is a SB AWE 64 Gold, maybe I should get a diff. card? But really, I think I'll build a new boxen next year... On Sat, 20 Oct 2001, William Goldsmith wrote: > Sounds like a sound

Sounds like a sound driver issue. Might want to try the SMP version of OSS (www.opensound.com). Do other sound apps work OK? -bg > On Sat, 20 Oct 2001, Akos Maroy wrote: > > /me cries, bummer deal. > Yes, running as root. > The load was in the 'teens as I remember, I looked @ that too. > One CPU was like 15% and the other 11%, something like that. > 2.2.19ext3 #2 SMP,

kicking sources
Hi, I've just seen a new thread asking about kicking clients off the server and wondered, if there is a feature to kick sources off the server as well. This would be very useful if the server is used by multiple djs on a radio-station with a timetable. So when a dj forgets to stop his livestream the next dj could just kick the source instead of killing and restarting the whole server.

I am new - how to set client
Thanks Josephus for your advice. That is the reason why I have joined this group...to learn. I have never done anything with streaming, but we must start somewhere. I do work with the web as a programmer. As I mentioned before, I do have winamp 5 and I have the server running I still do not know how to tie up winamp on my client machine to the server machine. Does some one have aworking copy

Best version of Icecast? / Icecast as a service? / Videostreaming?
Hello, 1. Which version of Icecast is the best and newest. Officially it is 2.4.4 at icecast.org. But is there a mod version with more features? 2. Who can run Icecast as a Windows service? My 2.4.3 version does not support this. Older versions had this option during installation. 3. Can Icecast stream also video livestream? Where can I find more about it? Kind regards. -------------- next

icecast2 per-mount overall listening statistics
Hi there! I don't know, if there have already been such a question, so that it is... I have icecast2 and 7 livestreams on it (by some reasons 6 darkices' mp3 and 1 ices2's ogg). By the given order I need to summarize the time each mount is listened for (for example, /mount1 is being listened by 3 listeners for 3 hours, than by 2 listeners for 1 hour and then by 1 listener for 2 hours. The summarized time, t...
